Fail-safe redundancy policies for Zope

What are the best, or most used fail-safe redundancy practices suitable to Zope? More in detail, I'm working on a Zope-based system that will store the data inside the ZODB, and one of the design requests is that given an unrecoverable hardware crash, the system could continue running using a mirror installation with the latest backup (not later than half an hour or even less.) APE looks like the way to go since it allows the use of standard backup software, but you may have tried other possible solutions for a problem like this. According to your experience how would you accomplish it? Thanks in advance, Ausum

Zope instance restarting itself

Hello, I have a Zope-2.6.1 instance running which behaves very weird. It restarts itself :-( First I discovered that the Data.fs truncated and restarted Zope. I then used fsrecovery.py on the Data.fs and it removed a bad transaction. Then I started Zope with the new Data.fs file. Now the instans restarts at the same time but without the error - infact withput any error. Any hints on how I can debug this? Greetings, Gitte Wange

Wie wandele ich eine Zahl in ein datum um. Ich möchte eine Übersichtsseite für eGroupware auf meinem Zope-Server bereitstellen. In der MySQL liegt das Datum in einem int(11)-Feld gespeichert. Ein Beispiel 1095780422. Wie kann ich hieraus ein Datum ermitteln? Ok I figured it out. refreshing the content

Hi all. Maybe it's mostly the Plone question, but I think that Zope-only users can have the same question. My configuration: instance of Plone 2.0.2 on Zope 2.7. I have portlets on my site. So the question: is there any problem to refresh the piece of the content (in my case - the content of one portlet) without the refreshing of the whole page? Persistent Dictionary

Hi When a user ask to my system for some data I "construct" a dictionary with all relevant data that I need (for example python scripts, Page Templates, etc) I a part of the precess I need to make these dictionary persists between calls I'm trying PersistentDict from http://www.zope.org/Members/AndrewWilcox/PersistentListDict and works fine (I can see the dictionary) but when I try to access to these dictionary keys I have these error: Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access 'key in the dictionary I'm try to access' in this context My question will be: How can I create a persistent dictionary with some Zope objects references?
