Remember that to Zope Javascript is just text, and that to Javascript (aka a browser) Zope is not visible at all (unless you use XML-RPC). Do you mean to define 'info' as a Javascript variable? Missing attributes while pasting objects...

Hi, I have a problem with Zope-2.6.1, which I'll try to describe below... I have several classes, in several Python products, with several custom properties : class MyFolder (ObjectManager): _properties = ({'id':'title', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'oid', 'type':'string', 'mode':''}, {'id':'template', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}) class MyClass (SimpleItem): _properties = ({'id':'title', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, {'id':'oid', 'type':'string', 'mode':''}, ...) class MySubClass (MyClass): _properties = MyClass._properties + \ ({'id':'template', 'type':'string', 'mode':'w'}, ...) Instances of MyClass and MySubClass are stored in instances of MyFolder. My problem is that when I cut and paste an instance of MySubClass from/to an instance of MyFolder, it seems that properties added to MySubClass are lost ; and in this example, the MySubClass.template is replaced with the value of MyFolder.template. The "CopySource._getCopy" method which is used to get a copy of an object while cutting/pasting is never overridden, but I think that my added properties are already missing while calling this method... Any help or idea will be greatly welcome... Thanks, Thierry

Two Zopes versus two Zope instances

Dear Zopers, On a server (P4 2,6 GHZ, 512MB, Win2k) I have an Intranet running (Zope 2.7.0 as service) and a preproduced utility database which came in a Zope 2.6.1. Would performance improve, if I ported the latter to a zope 2.7.0 instance? Would you advise to do so? I have never before set up a parallel 2.7 instance, but from documentation it seems that they would be independent services as well, sharing only the Program directory. ? local file system - external editor

Can someone tells me if the zope products < local file sytem > and < external editor > are able to work together or if they are not compatible ? Is there a list of file names which Zope looks for to automatically display a homepage when a website is referenced? I would like home.htm to shown when viewing www.mysite.org but it doesn't look as if Zope searches for such a file. Is this a configuration option? -- John

searching html content in page templates

I have bunch of static html files (about 50) that need to be part of an existing zope 2.7.2/plone app. Currently these are hosted in Apache and one of the reasons to move to an existing zope/plone site is to make use of zope catalog features. What are the best practices if I need to accomplish the following: a) Reuse parts of html (header, footer etc), if possible. While in apache, the html files are using Server side includes(SSI) to bring in header/footer etc into the main page. b) Search text in html documents I am trying to see if I can accomplish both the goals while minimizing the modifications to existing html. Page Templates seems to be the natural choice, but looks like they donot get indexed (and hence the content is not searchable). Is there a simple way to get the html in the PT to get cataloged ? Need Advice or recommedation on a reoccurring error

I have noticed since yesterday that the web application that I have designed is giving me this programming error: "Attempt to initiate a new SQL Server operation with results pending". I understand what it's saying but I don't understand how come this just started occurring. Thanks, Laura
