Hello. I am setting up a new server for a client, who is asking for Redhat Fedora Core 1. The applications will be Zope 2.7 and Plone 2 based. The Fedora Core 1 package list states Python 2.2.3 is part of the distro. My understanding is that Zope 2.7, Plone 2, and Python 2.2.3 play well together. Is the correct? I'm trying to get the hang of Zope's FTP and am making slow (but steady) progress... What I have no idea about is the way the server presents objects to the client via what must be some sort of virtual file system. Assuming I have a user called manager on a site called plone1, I seem to get as far as /plone1/Members/manager but no command shows me what is in this directory. How do I find out what is there? -- John

how to call sql methods from a product?

hello, I am from Belgium and you'll don't believe me, but a trojan horse in on your computer. I've scanned the network-ports on the internet. (I know, that's illegal) And I have found your pc. Your pc is open on the internet for everybody! Because the smss.exe trojan is running on your system. Check this, open the task manager and try to stop that! You'll see, you can't stop this trojan. When you use win98/me you can't see the trojan!! On my system was this trojan, too! And I've found a tool to kill that bad thing. I hope that I've helped you! greets

Error 98 (Address already in use)

I'm getting this error message every time I start Zope. I was running the computer as root (linux) with no problems on port 80. Then I restart, can't login as root anymore, because apparently my password is wrong (?!) So I log in as my usual user, start up Zope with the -w 8080 and now I'm getting the Error 98... What's going on? ~John

calc sheet

Hello I want to create something like a simple calc-sheet in zope : lines & rows coming from objects created by zclass input information and make some simple predefined calculation like sums and multiplication To do that I wanted to assign DYNAMICALLY variables (via exec(statement) but it seems that this is not possible with zope. Errors Creeping onto FTP Sessions

I've recently discovered the most unusual thing with our FTP clients. Occasionally, with no rhyme or reason, they cannot retrieve their files. The log is less than helpful. 142.66.35.80 3070 ==> 227 Entering Passive Mode (142,66,6,31,199,202) 142.66.35.80 3070 <== RETR remote_icon.jpg 142.66.35.80 3070 ==> 550 Error opening file. I'm not even sure what this means. I can FTP in with the same account at the command line and successfully retrieve the document. FTP Access: Large Text Files Transfer Super-Slow

Greetings, We are using FTP access to store content in Zope. Some of this content is large (~20MB) binary files - software distributions. However, when we download the files via FTP, the Mac versions top out at 2-3k/s. The PC versions come down too fast to get a transfer speed. A look in the ZMI, and Zope sees the PC versions as Files, and the Mac versions as DTML documents. You see, the Mac versions are HQX files, so I guess when they were FTP'ed up, Zope saw them as readable text and stored them as DTML documents. (I don't dare try to view their properties via the ZMI, as that causes Zope to attempt to display all 20MB of HQX in the editing pane.) We have not had any problems accessing these files via the web, but the Mac files do transfer 50% slower than the PC files via HTTP. That is still plenty fast enough to avoid being annoying, unlike the FTP transfer differences. Anyone with thoughts on what is happening, or what I can do? Ed
