Load Balancing, Sessions and Temporary Folder

Hi! I would like to know what I should do with the temporary folder in a mutiple Zope with ZEO setup. Does the temporary folder also need a ZEO server? What happens with sessions when the load balancer sends followup requests to different Zopes? Does Plone use Sessions? If not then I might be able to work without them in my case. Any pointers greatly appreciated, Florian Schulze

htdig search engine with zope

Hi, I have a htdig search engine running on 2 of my linux servers, on one of the server i have apache running at the background but not on the other one, here i was also running squid which uses the same port 80 with apache(this is why i cannot use apache). I was able to use the search engine on my first machine bcos of the cgi bin folder on the apache but not able on the other machine. Can somebody give me an ideal of how to do this on my second machine with squid and zope. Thanks.

squid caching to speed up plone

I'm trying to get this working. I followed: http://zope.org/Members/itamar/Squid I keep getting TCP_MISS:DIRECT entries in my squid access.log file. I seems that normal ZMI pages are (or at least parts) are properly cached, but nothing in plone get's cached. reusable edit form for structureddocument

Hi- I'm trying to write and edit form that will be usable for several StructuredDocuments, and something is not quite right. I can get an edit page for a particular page working, but not for a multiple documents. for instance, if I want to edit index_html is use: <textarea name=stuff rows=30 cols=100><dtml-var "aq_parent.index_html"> </textarea> and it puts the contents of index_html and everything is fine. However, if I try to pass the id of the file as a parameter to the form, using the code <textarea name=stuff rows=30 cols=100><dtml-var "REQUEST.file_to_edit"> </textarea> renders 'index_html' (not the contents) in the textarea. (file_to_edit is the parameter that stores the id of the file to be edited) So obviously it is rendering a string 'index_html' instead of an object called index_html. I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to get it working. I'm also open to moving this to python/zpt if that makes it any easier, I just know dtml better, so I started there. thanks Kevin

manage_main and ordersupport

Stable combination of zope2.7/python/apache?

I am currently running Zope 2.44, Python 2.13, and Apache 1.3.22 on a RedHat 8 server which is pretty stable. I want to upgrade to 2.7 to take advantage of ZCTextIndex, as I want to have the ability to have exact phrase search capability and also take advantage of the faster speed. What is the most stable combination of Zope 2.7/Python/Apache? I had to use Apache 1.3.22 at the time because .23 and .24 had cookie setting and handling problems. Michael

Programatically creating workflows

Hi, we are starting to work on an extention of SMW CASE tool, and our intention is to programatically create Zope workflows from UML State Diagrams. This is a branch of ERP5 project(http://www.erp5.org), but I believe that it can potentially help every CMF developer/user. I would like to know the steps to programatically create, from Python scripts (outside Zope), CMF workflows (inside Zope).
