popen2 problem with Zope 2.7.0 and Photo

Greetings Zopistas. Furthermore, zope will no longer respond to requests until I restart it. I already verified that origimg._IMdata() doesn't hang. I am using Photo 1.2.3 from http://zope.org/Members/rbickers/Photo/ with ImageMagick on Linux 2.2.20. Any hints? Thanks. Troy

bug with File Library example on 2.7.0

Running Zope 2.7.0 / python 2.3.3 I ran into a bug with the File Library example app. When you click on the column headers twice to resort in reverse you get an error: Error Type: ValueError Error Value: An integer was expected in the value 'True' The url causing the problem is: .../FileLibrary/index_html?sort=date&reverse:int=True On Zope 2.6.3 / python 2.2.2 the example works and the URL is: .../FileLibrary/index_html?sort=date&reverse:int=1 Tom

Hi all, I'd like to register the Python that comes with Zope as the primary python instance. Last time I did this, i.e., used a python script to update the windows registry, it was someone on this mailing list who was kind enough to point me to the right place/method. I've lost the link, tried finding it on Zope.org without success, and am now hoping someone on can help me out again... Thanks. Samir

Deian setup

I'm running Debian sarge and I've just installed zope and plone, but I can't seam to login to the zope management area. zope is running, I can see it at http://localhost:9673/ but I can login using 'cmsuser' and 'password' I've used zope-zpasswd -u james -p password /var/lib/zope/access to set up another user and then restarted zope but I still can't login. Can any one tell me what I'm doing wrong and where I can find some debian specific instructions. Thanks James

Zsyncer

I am attempting to find a solution to my problem -- synchronizing a Zope production server to a Zope development server at controlled intervals. I have been doing it by hand but the process has just gotten too unwieldy. Zsyncer seems like a product that does this. I am however having a problem trying to determine if it supports this scenario: 1) Development server is web based 2) Production server is intranet based What I want to do is from the intranet trigger the synchronization. The problem I seem to be running into in playing with it is that it seems is the server that you are synching from(in the internet cloud in my case) needs to have tcp/ip access to the server that it is synching (not true in my case -- and I can't make this possible). The server in question though does have outgoing access to the internet. Is my assumption/interpretation of the Zsyncer process correct? Is there a strategy that will allow me to what I want to do? A secondary issue -- I want also to be able to synch security settings/roles -- does Zsyncer help me here? Brian Sullivan Courses by Wire (www.coursesbywire.com)

Bonehead problem w/ return printed from external method

I feel like i'm hitting my head up against a wall, and need a sanity check. on an external method, def main(self): print "this is a test" return printed doesn't work. what is printed does display on my console, but my zmi comes back with Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'printed' is not defined I'm using default python 2.1 installation (jnot from zope) and zope 2.6.0... on w2k. return printed does work as expected from inside a script/python, however. Thanks alot for any response, like i said it's about time to put a helmet on.
