Zope 2.7 and ZODBCDA Product

I can't seem to get Zope 2.7 to start when the ZODBCDA product is in the Zope-Instance products folder. Platform is Windows 2000 Server. Two questions: 1) Am I right or wrong in assuming that ZODBCDA will not work with Zope 2.7, because some or all of it is a binary compiled with a previous version of Python? 2) Will ZODBCDA be updated soon? Are their Windows ODBC product alternatives? I have have never been able to get ZMySQLDA to run on W2K, despite many attempts and kludges. Double backslashes in IE

Following up on my problem with getting errors in the expression _.getitem(file.filename) when using IE, I've learned that IE "sees" the filename as something like 'C:\\CSF\\BUS581\\581F203H1BJS.doc'. The double backslashes are making it an invalid filename. I've put on my Python thinking cap, figuring I can write a script that takes care of that. But string.replace(x, r"\\", r"\") doesn't work. The raw single slash escapes the final double quote and gives an error. Any suggestions?

Zope 2.7.0 zopectl problems (bug?) and questions

I'm trying to find out how to use the zopectl script. How can I create an auto-restarting Zope, so that when Zope crashes it is automatically restarted? Querying Unknown Properties

Newbie question here: How does one go about discovering the attributes and attribute names of an unknown object? At the moment I'm building a MySQL database with a Zope front end. My client will be storing Microsoft Word documents in the system (it's a management tool for academic reviews of submissions to a journal). I have a blob field in the manuscript database, and I can add in fields for MIME type and such if needed; but all the information I have on the file once it's uploaded is <ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload instance at 0x3d3188cc> Now, this would be all fine and well if I knew what the properties and methods supported by the FileUpload object were, but I don't and I can't find documentation of that; I also tried iterating through the object to see if I could coax the information out that way: <table border> <tr tal:repeat="theFile container/REQUEST/Manuscript_File> <td tal:content="repeat/theFile/name">property name</td> <td tal:content="repeat/theFile/item">property data</td> </tr> </table> but it says the object does not support iteration. So: I guess I have two questions: (1) how can one determine the data and properties of an uploaded file? (2) how can one determine the properties of an arbitrary object? TIA! Murray

Uploading large number of files

OK, I've got a whole bunch of HTML files (900+) I need to import into a site. The site uses page templates, and I've massaged the files to replace their existing headers with METAL-compliant headers, with all the fill-slots properly created. Now all I need to do is FTP them to the Zope server - piece of cake, right? Except that all the HTML files get created as DTML Documents! How can I configure things so that HTML files get created as Page Templates instead of DTML documents?
