configure '--prefix' or '--home'

It appears that when Zope 2.7.0 is getting built, any value for --prefix is being copied to --home and the latter variable used, and wondered why... Within the Makefile, is there any particular reason why '--home' is being used here:- ? install: build ${PYTHON} "${BASE_DIR}/setup.py" ${DISTUTILS_OPTS} install \ --home="${PREFIX}" ${BUILD_FLAGS} ${INSTALL_FLAGS} If this was '--prefix', as one might logically expect, it would build without any problems on OS/2. I notice that the Windows version includes '--prefix' at this point. I would like this to be changed to '--prefix' if the command line includes this option. Is that possible? -- John

Installation Problems

Everything appeared to install fine (WindowsXP), but I could not bring up the management console. I shutdown the service and ran runzope from the command line. Trying to use the reported Hostname as a URL (http://Oxygen.kenets01.pa.comcast.net:8080/manage) generated "The page cannot be displayed" message on IE 6. What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this? Problem with Zope 2.7.0 in Gentoo

See my other messages re. LocalFS on list. Links listed there, along with problems. I'm still having problems, and it may be just a simple fix, but I haven't had much time. I did get some things to work with newer versions. Hope you have better luck, and I'd definitely appreciate knowing if your experiences are different from mine. zope crashes

Hi, we just went only with www.europython.org yesterday, and after going online Zope crashes running at most 15 minutes. Hello Everyone, I have to do this college project on Zope and Python, so I was just messing with ZMI. I am trying to create a new Python script, but I get this error Error Type: ImportError Error Value: import of "yy" from "DateTime" is unauthorized. You are not allowed to access yy in this context The script that causes this error is below from DateTime import yy request = container.REQUEST RESPONSE = request.RESPONSE print "<br>CUrrent time is", yy() return printed The strange thing is that all imports from Products.PythonScripts.standard but any other library does not work. Email Processing

I would like to be able to receive email, parse the contents of message being received on a separate machine. I can access the machine via POP3 or could have the mail forwarded to the zope server if it could be read from a local mail account on the machine. Any ideas?
