I have a section of code that I want to have run only once during a request. It mails out some information about the request. I want only one email per request even if a conflict occurs during the request. I am having no luck eliminating duplicate emails. I have tried this a few different ways now, but currently my code looks something like this: def theFunction(self,REQUEST): "docstring" ...do some stuff... get_transaction().commit() try: ...send the email... get_transaction().commit() except: pass ...do some more stuff... return self.return_page_template(REQUEST) I thought that this try block with a commit() would isolate the send mail code in its own transaction, and then catch any conflict exception and ignore it. But I am still getting multiple emails per transaction when multiple requests happen at the same time and conflicts occur. How can I isolate a part of the code so that it can never roll back and execute again? --Sean

Zope Session Timeout

Does anyone know how to check if a Zope Session has timed out? I know that this value is set in the Session Data Container object that resides in the Temp folder at the root level. But how can I check to see if this time limit has been exceeded? I would like to redirect the user to a customized error page when this happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

Mysterious Zope Run-time Error

I have a variable called 'currentSessionError' that I have placed in the SESSION attribute of the REQUEST object. I am having a problem making the value of this variable persist when I run Zope with SSL. In particular, the value of this variable does not persist when I access a form(i.e. DTML document) from a second form via a standard hypertext link. The value of this variable clearly exists when the second form is being processed but upon accessing the link, the value of this variable is reset to None. I have ascertained this by using <dtml-var "REQUEST.SESSION.get('currentSessionError')"> in both forms. This is the only SESSION variable whose value does not persist when I run Zope with SSL. I have numerous other variables in the SESSION that work as expected. Also, when I run Zope without SSL, the value of this variable persists between the two forms. Has anyone come across a similar problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

Zope 2.7 Problems

Hi All, A while ago I started using Zope 2.7 instead of Zope 2.6. After this upgrade thing are not running as expected. Currently using Zope 2.7.2 Problem 1) Zope crashes spontaniously After running for a while the zope server stops responding. When I check the server the main zope thread is killed and the subthreads are running on there own without the parent proces. Problem 2) Zope leaks memory After installing zope 2.7 it looks like the server leaks a lot of memory. The memory keeps adding until the server runs out of memory. Does anyone know a solution to these problems. Greetings Ralph

Zope and clients - debug info

Hi ! My question is that: I have a zope site. It ins intra, but in the future we want to publish in internet. For make the development more simple ("simpler" ?), I check the REMOTE_ADDR. If it is a special intra address (exm: 192.168.3.8), or it is localhost, the I show special elements (request datas, and in std_err_msg I show the traceback). These informations are hot infos (the traceback is show the object's real position !). So I don't want to publish to anybody, only to me. (Because my home machine is not in network, I must use the localhost, when I working at home). But: I think, that is possible to anybody, who have a redirector utility, or iptables, to map his localhost to my server. (Redirect it: iptables 127.0.0.1:80->http://myserverinnet) It is possible ? If it is happened, how the REMOTE_ADDR filled by zope ? I afraid to when it is happened, and REMOTE_ADDR is showed as localhost Then my site is thinking about client that he is developer, and show the hot debug infos. Please help me in this. Intersection/Union of ZCatalog result sets

I have found some old references to proposals for implementing the ability to combine (intersection, union) the result sets from multiple ZCatalog queries. Does anyone know if the ability to combine two or more 'lazy result sets' has been implemented? Hunting through the zope source code the only similar routines I could find were in the BTrees and ZCTextIndex code, but they deal with intersection/union of BTrees (not lazy result sequences). As an alternative, is there any way to get ZCatalog search results in 'BTree' form instead of lazy results? Thanks, Jonathan
