I don't recommend using 2.4 Python 2.4 is not a supported version for Zope 2.7.4. I can't see what could be wrong there , specially if the issue appears randomly... :( I just noticed that you are using python 2.3.5 Something strange is that your issue looks like one of the bugs that should precisely be fixed in that new version : Bug #1055820 Cyclic garbage collection was not protecting against that calling a live weakref to a piece of cyclic trash could resurrect an insane mutation of the trash if any Python code ran during gc (via running a dead object's __del__ method, running another callback on a weakref to a dead object, or via any Python code run in any other thread that managed to obtain the GIL while a __del__ or callback was running in the thread doing gc). The most likely symptom was "impossible" AttributeEror exceptions, appearing seemingly at random, on weakly referenced objects. The cure was to clear all weakrefs to unreachable objects before allowing any callbacks to run. I would suggest that you have a try on python 2.3.4 But someone else may have better ideas... no-login account for local users

Hello, I'd like to create a default nologin user account for users accessing pages from local network (10.*.*.*) so that they do not have to authenticate. I know that you can add additional IP contraints once you have a normal (password based authentication) account. Could you give me any hints? Regards, r. Kotowicz.

Well, I checked my logfile, and my child processes have been running for 2 days. No process has exited, and no process has been created, so globally my ZopeHandler Zope instances are up since Apache startup. About the ZEO persistent client cache, I had not thought about it. It looks like my ZopeHandler Zope instances did not need to flip their cache yet (because they are set to 64M I think), so no file was created until now. But if a file needed to be created, then it may be a problem, as each of the instances would try to use the same filename. I will try to investigate this when I have time to. I am not sure we can share anything between instances. I mean, each instance runs in a completely separate process. Giving Ownership

Hello all, There's an interface available to take ownership of objects if the user has the appropriate permissions. I'd like to give/assign ownership of objects to other users or groups. Is there an easy way to do this? It would be convenient if this functionality was available as an interface to owners of objects. Most of our users are extremely non-technical, therefore they are restricted to very simple web front-ends. TIA Regards, Samir.

Changing owner of a folder object

If I add a folder in my python code as follows (where users is where I wish to create this folder and username is to be the name of the folder): manage_addFolder(users, username, username) How do I go about changing the owner of that folder (to the user named by the 'username' variable)? If 'uF' is a handle to the folder object created above, the method: uF.changeOwnership(username) fails. It appears that changeOwnership() expects an actual user object and not the character string. I then tried using the 'getUser()' method to retrieve the user object associated w/ the name but keep getting NotImplentedErrors. Clearly I'm doing something pretty wrong here - the newest documentation I can find on the subject is the developers guide for Zope 2.4, which perhaps is out of date? Thanks -J

HTTP-Auth Dialog Box Says Zope

Hello, I use a regular user folder for HTTP Authentication. In the IE or Mozilla generated Login Dialog Box, it prints the word Zope above username and password. Where is this in Zope and how can I change it... I have a very novice user audience, and my applications doesn't use any Zope screens, so it could be confusing to my audience.
