Thanks a lot. All clear now ! But I think I will wait for final 1.1.0 ;) and use 1.0.1 in the meantime. By the way, what you say means that http://www.zope.org/Members/efge/TranslationService is outdated : "Install Localizer 1.0.1 (do not use the 1.1 branch of Localizer, it is not supported and will not work)." prob in connecting PHP gateway

Sir , i cudnt find any method for database connectivity with remote oracle server with my zope. i use the server using telnet login only so dont have oracle client installed on my SuSE linux p4 system. I tried to connect it via PHP gateway but its giving me the folowwing error when i click the view tab of Zope in my PHP gateway instance . '/srv/www/htdocs' may not be a PHP-CGI program. The result from the program is empty(0 byte). whereas that is my pache docroot for sure . plz help me with both these probs.

context switch calling a ZPT from a ZPT

I have a CMF type 'foo' associated with foo_view template. Thus, when an instance of the type 'foo' is viewed, foo_view is called, and the instance is available to the template in the 'here' variable. My problem is that parts of the foo_view template are rendered by another ZPT, which I call from foo_view like so: <metal:section replace="python:here.foo_section(section='research')" /> Within foo_section, I need to access the instance of type 'foo'. However, the 'here' and 'context' variables both reference the foo_view template object rather than the context object on which the template was invoked. Is this expected? How can I get the instance object within foo_section? I tried passing it (with nocall), but then I get various other errors. emergency user login not working

this install runs under win2k changed the original install adminstrator password and then i couldn't get into the zmi, but i can get into my plone site i have run and rerun and rerun zpasswd,py inituser and access and created both those files in the plone 2/zope/bin directory i have copied both files to the plone 2/zope directory and the plone 2/zope/skel directory, i copied into all those directories trying to follow the various posts to have them in the 'zope-instance' directory after each file create and copy, i stopped and restarted zope however, nothing is working, i can't login. after 3 trys i get the 'You are not authorized to access this resource' blank page i even tried creating usernames of 'superuser' and 'access' that some posts seem to indicate to use those names, as you can see i'm pretty desperate, even tried one post suggestion to run zpasswd -u admin -p 123 access but not sure about the last one desperate for help here

"Fake" folder hiearchy

Hello, I have this site hiearchy, make it by Folders: - product - books - tapes Now, if somebody write to URL address like: http://mysite.com/product/books I get a template page from that folder. It's OK. But what I need is some dynamical handling of URL. I would like be able to handle URLs like: http://mysite.com/product/books/tarzan where tarzan is some key word for, which I get, dynamical query database (for example) and dynamical render page about Tarzan book. I dont want make folder hiearchy under "books" folder, because I have all books data in database... Is it possible do something like this? Thanks Michal

Garbage characters in Firefox

Hello: New zope and plone user with things generally working. Installed by RPM, current versions are: Mandrake 10.1 Zope 2.7.3-1 Zope Group User Folder 3.1.1-1 Plone-2.0.5-2 Apache 2.0.50-7.2.10 The only problem I'm having currently is that my site is either rendered without any of the CSS formatting or images, or is rendered with half a page of garbage characters (the main page as well as internal links you might go to) when using firefox. If I <shift>-reload the page, it then comes up rendered properly every time. Sadly, IE never seems to exhibit this behavior-- it works every time. One other configuration note....I am proxying the site through apache using mod_proxy and the proxypass option in my vhosts conf file. Obviously using the virtualhostmonter in conjunction with that configuration. I wasn't able to find anything in the archives or google to shed light on it, so I'm hoping someone on the list has some recommendations. Happy to post any configs anyone is interested in. As a final side note, I've dug into this from a plone and apache perspective and have eliminated (I believe) as possible culprits (i.e., I see this behavior when not proxying). Zope products and uploading files

Dear all At the moment I am creating a small zope product that is the web front end to a java pipeline. I have a form where I can upload a file and I can successfully place it anywhere within the Zope database by using context.manage_addFile(name,file,title) The file that is uploaded does not really want to be in zope - it should be somewhere on the local filesystem - I have tried to read the file contents back to the filesystem - but the product dies with a Attribute Error :: __call__ Or POSKeyError 000000000267f or something like it. I could use Java to extract the contents of the URL but this seems quite silly. I know that I am doing it the hard way - could someone kindly suggest to me an elegant way to write the File object directly to the local disk? Any help would be very gratefully received.
