Zope and mod_python

Hi, I have successfully (I think) integrated Zope with Apache/mod_python, just to make some tests. I would like to know if you think that this can be interesting in terms of performance (specially number of simultaneous requests being handled, compared to one "real" Zope instance, even with number of threads increased). Sorry in advance if I missed something important and if this is not interesting at all :) By now I have not been able to get the logging working, and I am not completely sure about clean shutdown when Apache is stopped, but I will continue investigating... Software : + httpd-2.0.52 + mod_python-3.1.3 + Python-2.3.4 + psyco-1.4 (only to use Zope Speedpack product) + Zope 2.7.4 + Several Zope products (Localizer, CMF 1.5.0, ...) Programmatically setting default perms for products

Hello ... I am writing a disk-based product, and while I've set what permissions are required for various tasks using __ac_permissions__, what I really would like to do at this point is describe a set of default permissions for a newly created instance of my product (for instance, I want to set certain folders contained within to *not* acquire permissions, I'd like to set certain things to requrie authorized/owner/etc permissions, etc). I've looked around (perhaps I'm not asking the write questions to google and such) and have yet to find something that describes this. I'm assuming this is possible (perhaps it isn't, and that's why I can't find anything) - any hints? Thanks -J

Virtual Hosting with Sun iPlanet Web Proxy Server

Hello, Zope Community. Has anyone used the Sun iPlanet Web Proxy Server to Virtual Host their Zope sites? We're running Sun iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 and have configured Virtual Multihosting the following way: Virtual Mapping Host regex: sitename(|.domain.com)(|:80) Destination prefix: http://domain.com:8080/sitename It works fine when you type http://sitename.domain.com in to your browser. It brings up the correct page with the correct URL in the address bar. However, every internal (relative) link on the page reverts to http://sitename.domain.com:8080/sitename. I've tried the standard configuration with the Virtual Host Monster in conjunction but it didn't affect it. Getting Properties of Objects in Folders Within Catalog Results

I am using the following script to get objects out of the catalog: objects = [] results = [] for object in context.Catalog(meta_type='Folder'):results.append(object) print results return results And I recieve the following results: [<mybrains instance at 22E275B0>, <mybrains instance at 14AEC958> ]However, I would like to get information about objects within each of the folders that are returned (such as the id and description of images that are contained in the folders). I know this information would not be part of each folder's entry in the catalog, but can it be obtained through aquisition -- perhaps if I know the path to the object? Can this be done using a python script to query the catalog, and then dtml to access the namespace for each folder? Thanks in advance, John T.

Hi, Has anyone here had a look at PEAK yet? http://peak.telecommunity.com/ What would you say is the main differences between Zope (specifically Zope X3) and PEAK? In an enterprise application environment (read: no website stuff), when would PEAK be better suited and when would you rather use Zope X3? Regards, Andreas Pauley
