objectValues and root folder in a VirtualHostMonster site

Hi I have a site which I developed as a sub site of the root zope folder: /test_web_site I use apache rewriting and the VirtHostMonster to make /test_web_site/ the root of the particular site I'm working on. Unfortunately we used DTML (my other ones now use ZPT but I don't have time to rewrite this one at the moment). I have a piece of code which loops through all the folders: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('Folder')"> ... Previously it was: <dtml-in expr="test_web_site.objectValues('Folder')"> and this worked fine. Now with the test_web_site removed (so that I can relocate as necessary) I get nothing returned. Can anyone point me in the right direction ? I would have thought that something along the lines of expr="root.objectValues('Folder')" would be the right thing to do, but can't find the ccorrect syntax. Regards, Pete PS: using Zope 2.6.0

python TTW script kills zope

Hi! I noticed a strange behaviour in an old Zope 2.3.3 that's raised by this simple Python script (run by a Manager) aclu = container.acl_users allUsers = aclu.getUsers() print len(allUsers), "users" for someUser in allUsers: print 'an user' # this raises the error print "Terminé" return printed This kills Zope and the console shows this... assertion "STACK_LEVEL() <= f->f_stacksize" failed: file "Python/ceval.c", line 695 ------ 2003-07-23T12:53:03 ERROR(200) zdaemon zdaemon: Wed Jul 23 14:53:03 2003: Aiieee! 83355 exited with error code: 6 When changing "print 'an use'" with "pass", this runs OK. usage of dtml-sqltest tag in Zsql method

Hi Someone please help me out with this: I am passing a string in this format (215,216) from the python script to the Zsql method. The SQl query should have the following form: select * from employees where id in (215,216) but is as follows: select * from employees where id in '(215,216)' which does not give the required result.The id is of data type string/nb. It doesnt accept integer values. A sample usage is given in the Zope documentation **************************************** select * from employees <dtml-sqlgroup where> <dtml-sqltest salary op="gt" type="float" optional> <dtml-and> <dtml-sqltest first type="nb" multiple optional> <dtml-and> <dtml-sqltest last type="nb" multiple optional> </dtml-sqlgroup> If first=Bob and last=Smith, McDonald it renders: select * from employees where (first='Bob' and last in ('Smith', 'McDonald') ) *****************************************8 But it is not working when I tried it. I get the following result select * from employees where (first='Bob' and last = 'Smith,McDonald' ) Please help me out!!Is there any other type for declaring the database fields other than int,float,string and nb.I am using Zope version 2.5.1 . > How can I provide a full traceback ? If you can access the manage interface, then go to the error_log object and copy the last exception. In case that you can't access the manage interface and you are double clicking on start.bat, don't do that because the dos window will disapear as soon as an error occurs. You have to go to the start menu, choose run, type cmd, then go to the folder where start.bat is and execute it. Finally copy the exception that apears in the dos window. Regards, Josef

ZPT macro using a macro from the same page template

RE: Formulator--pre-selecting a line in a multiline field - still unsolved.

I am using a multiline Formulator widget and I want to preset the line in a list using a value from the record in the database which I read in my DTML document, and which is going to be updated. I read the record and I can display all the "fixed" fields with no problems. I am still not clear on how to specify the default value, which is gotten from the database record, when I display the form using Formulator. I have successfully created a Python/Script & ZSQL Method (it is in the TALES Item field) to read a code table from a MySQL database and display it in the Formulator form when it is rendered. This list has two values per line, the text displayed and the numeric code that is to be returned when the user make a choice from the list. Dieter made a suggestion that I place the value of the data item that I want to use to point to the correct line in the multiline widget, in a hidden field so that it will be accessible when Formulator renders the field. The document that displays the Formulator widgets is a DTML document that I coded to display the data fields using calls to the Formulator API. The lines look like this: ..... <tr> <td> <input type="HIDDEN" name="company_contact_id_selected:int" value="<dtml-var company_contact_id null="">"> <dtml-var "profile_form.company_contact_id.get_value('title')"></td> <td><dtml-var "profile_form.company_contact_id.render(_['company_contact_id'])"></td> </tr> ..... It should have looked like this: <option value="6" selected>Bruce (from: SG)</option> The question is, what is the syntax I need to use in the Formulator/TALES management screen for a multiline widget to reference the data in the hidden field called "company_contact_id_selected". I think I need to place a reference to the variable "company_contact_id_selected" in the TALES default field, but I can't seem to find the correct syntax to reference it. Does anyone have any ideas? Zope-2.6.1 + boa-constructor

Hi, I'd like to use boa-constructor (release 0.2.3 with Python-2.2.2 on Linux) to access my Zope servers (release 2.6.1 with Python-2.1.3, on Linux and Solaris). I can access Zope products (python scripts and DTML files) throught SSH without any problem, but I have a lot of problems when trying to use the Zope transport to access scripts (Python or DTML) stored into the ZODB. Actually, for many files, I receive an error message : xml.parsers.expat.ExpatError: not well-formed (invalid token): line x, column y Actually, these scripts are OK and can be executed or edited throught ZMI without a problem. i18n site and search robots

Hi, This is not strictly speaking a Zope problem, but certainly lots amond you faced and fixed this. I made a i18n site with Localizer that runs fairly good, including its i18n search engine. But what about external searche engine robots (google, infossek...) How to "tell" them that they may browse and index the pages in french, english, spanish (...), changing their http header "Accept-Language" ? Many thanks in advance --Gilles

javascript / python /populate fields from db

Hi all, This list is really wonderful, as I can solve most of my issues so fast, that I am amazed. Well I need more help... My requirement is to populate three fields (coming from formulator) in a ZPT file. The first field has a drop down and should get data from db using pyhton. The next 2 fields should populate themselves with the corresponding columns from the database. It seems to me that javascript is the only choice? Am I correct in this assumption? If yes, are there any options on how to use it in this scenario? Does python (server side) "talk" directly to javascript(client side)? Maybe python generates the javascript on the fly? Are you aware of any examples using this approach on the web? Any comments would be helpful...
