Dear Dieter, Thank you for answering my Formulator question. I am a little unclear on your answer. If I may I would like to ask it more clearly. In a DTML document, I have the following code to render the field "company_contact_id" which is an integer, and its label, inside a table for formatting: <tr> <td><dtml-var "profile_form.company_contact_id.get_value('title')"></td> <td><dtml-var "profile_form.company_contact_id.render(_['company_contact_id'])"></td> </tr> In this case, the field in the database is called "company_contact_id", and that is also what I named it in Formulator. In your example you said: <INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="sex_code:int" VALUE="<dtml-var sex_code null="">"> I have read the database record before I display the page and I have the values in the record, I am able to display other "fixed" fields. I am not sure how your example fits with pre-setting the Formulator field on display. In other Formulator fields, including the database field name as (_['company_contact_id']) works to preview the value from the database record. But in the case of the list field, it does not work. Are you suggesting that I should create a hidden field and assign it the value I want to select -- and then refer to that hidden field as the default value of the Formulator multiline widget? Does the Formulator rendering code understand how to do that with a multilist field? Thanks for your help. David ======================================= David T. Does anyone know how to preset the selected field in a multiline field in a Forumlator form. The form is built with Formulator widgets and displayed using DTML - and I have it working. I am loading the list in a multiline field from a SQL table -- and I use a Python script to build the list of tuples needed. That works. Now I want to use a value from the database record I am displaying to set the value selected in the list -- before displaying the page. I can't figure out how to preset the selected field in the list. If the list looks like ABC, 1 DEF, 2 HIJ, 3 and in the database the field has a value of 2. I would like the form, when it is rendered, to have the second line "DEF" already selected. I have looked in the documentation and can't find an example of this. Any suggestions -- this is urgent! I decided to go with Formulator and now I can't finish implementing several forms because I can't figure this out. Thanks, David ======================================= David T. Obtaining the User's Name from a Python Script in Zope

I have used the getUserName() function in page templates and passed that name as a parameter to python scripts in Zope. But, now I need to independently verify the authenticated user from a script, not relying on anything passed in from a page. Is it possible to do so, and if so, how? The basic need is to obtain the logged in user's name from a script directly from Zope from within a python script. If this should be posted to another list, please let me know. Anyway, your code could be written shorter and nicer. You don't have to use "rownum" to count the rows. This lines of code: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set(rownum,1)" <dtml-in recordset> Row <dtml-var rownum>, check <drml-var sequence-item><br> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set(rownum,rownum+1)" </dtml-in> can be replaced by: <dtml-in recordset> Row <dtml-var "_['sequence-number']">, check <drml-var sequence-item><br> </dtml-in> Regards, Josef

Internal Messaging System

Hello, I am looking for a Zope product that would give my site internal messaging capability. Each user should have his/her own mail box, and should be allowed to send messages to a specific user, to a group, or to all users. It would also be nice if there was an option to send e-mail messages, but this is not an absolute requirement. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. But if ih has replaced old with new, then lsof does not show any file, because original file (deleted) is still in use but is not visible (because is deleted). Dear all, I have forget to redhat (up to year back I make all under Redhat 5.2, 7.0, 7.3 - the best distros from RedHat). Now Iam using Mandrake 9.0/9.1 at all, on production server 9.1, IPcop, SNF or MNF at firewalls. I have uptime from my latest server installation into rack, upgrades are from mandrake updates automatically. So if you are not redhat fanatic, think about conversion ;-) Regards, JL.

How to restore Data.fs?

Dear List, I have a back up of Data.fs file. I took that from my server and want to put that in my machine. I newly installed my Zope server. Copied the Data.fs into /var/zope/var/ and restart the zope server but not able to access logged into the Zope management interface. I used the previously used user name and password (same as in the server) to access. But not able to access. Zope 2.6.2 on RH9

Anyone running production on the RH9 system with all the available upgrades and patches? I know there have been problems but rumour has it that it is now stable and playing well with Zope. Can anyone confirm from their direct experience? RH9 implements CPU affinity which may be useful for performance tuning in a SMP situation. Has anyone had experience with Zope using the new affinity calls in the 2.5 kernel?
