RSS creation using Page Templates - can't use link?

Hi, I'm trying to make a simple RSS feed using Page Templates. <div tal:omit-tag="" tal:repeat="rec python:here.objectValues(['Folder'])"> <item tal:condition="exists:rec/this_is_news"> <guid isPermaLink="false" tal:content="rec/getId">423455</guid> <link tal:content="rec/absolute_url"></link> </item> </div> The moment I add in the link tag above, it gives an error: Compilation failed TAL.HTMLTALParser.EmptyTagError: Close tag </link> should be removed, at line 12, column 42 I can name that tag as, say url and all works. Any thoughts? ZOPE 2.6.2 Beta 4 Released Zope 2.6.2b4 represents a development step in the next Zope release formed with a large number of community contributions. Python 2.1.3 includes a fix to an issue that could cause crashes in Zope. Users who upgrade from source MUST RUN a |make clean| and |make| command to build the proper binaries correctly; distutils will skip compilation of the library modules needed for Zope and will cause errors if they are not up to date. Integrating Zope with the file system

Hi all, I want to integrate my Zope/Plone portal with files on the Lan. Does a product exist that: 1) Allows viewing/editing of (e.g.) Windows files w/out requiring that they be made Zope objects? 2) Does not have security holes since the files would be available via the Internet. 3) Provides text search capability, again, w/out requiring that they become Zope objects? upload LocalFS with python script

Hi, When uploading a file with a pythonscript containing the following statements the size of the uploaded file is 0. file = container.REQUEST.form['FILE'] context.manage_addProduct['LocalFS'].manage_upload(file) What is the problem ? Regards, Michael

Hi, I am using the following statements in order the filesize. file = container.REQUEST.form['FILE'] filesize = len(file.read()) When getting the size of large files it takes a long time to calculate. Is there another (fast) way to get the filesize in a python script ? Regards, Michael

Set "uncontained" attributes on a Implicitly wrapped object.

I already found a solution for this but I'm asking to see if there might be another way to do this? I need to save a referens to a acquision wrapped object "Configure" in a object which at some point doesn't have it's own context (just a single wrapped object). I save this volatile and always uniquely for each REQUEST object (see CMF skinable for an example). Just assigning it to the attribute self._v_skinfolder=sf and the accessing it as self.skinfolder makes it contained in the object (aq_chain would say [<Skinfolder>, <Object>]) But by saving it as a tuple: self._v_skinfolder=(sf,) it's not directly contained in the <Object> so when accessing it self.skinfolder[0] it's returned with its original context. Is there anyway to make uncontained attributes of an object that inherits Acquisision.Implicit? I just want to change my question: Is there an updated Python Based Product Tutorial? I've found the "Minimal Product" by maxm, but it was last updated on 2001/08/12 and it lacks of some necesary things like security policies. Typecasting in DTML (or is this Python?)

Hello again list... I need to typecast [amount] as a string - but only within the history string. in my attempt below, history finished up as.... ZPT to Python(script) to a different page

Newbie requests Style help please... I have a ZopePageTemplate containing a form. The action of the form points back to itself. This puts the user in a loop. At the top of the form, a tal:define statement calls a python script to perform validation and decision making logic. If the validation fails, as it will on the first ZPT rendering, the script returns the validation errors and the user is still on the originating ZPT containing the form. If the validation fails, due to bad input, the script returns the validation errors and the user is still on the originating ZPT. If the validation passes, I would like the user's browser to display different ZPTs based on the script's decision logic. What are the various means for the python script to cause the user's browser to display a new ZPT/zope object/html page? Or should I pass back to the ZPT and write tal:condition tags? Then what are the various means for the ZPT to cause the user's browser to display a new ZPT/zope object/html page? Can I simulate a user clicking on a link? thanks in advance
