Locked out of acl_users
by Kevin Rattai 17 Jul '03

17 Jul '03

Not realizing what I was doing would be a _bad_ thing, I mistakenly changed the default manager account to a ownership account. All other users are ownership, not manager. Now, I cannot get into acl_user regardless of what user I try to log in as. I keep getting: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not authorized to view this object. ~~~~~~~~~ Is there any way to get myself set back up as a manager? :-) thx, Kevin

By jove, you've got it! For the moment, I don't want to touch ZMI code. So I deleted the URL object. (I had previously made a hack for deleting stuff.) thx! (for others' reference, the offending code is within /App/dtml/manage_tabs.dtml ) --- In zope(a)yahoogroups.com, Jamie Heilman <jamie@a...> wrote: > Chances are somebody named an object in that folder "URL" and DTML's > stupid name space games are causing you pain. After trying to play with some debugging, I got tired of the headaches. So I turned to zLOG, and tried to call it from with DT_Util.py, to find out the value of URL. But I end up getting a "global name 'URL' is not defined" message. How can I work around this without having to rewrite chunks of internal Zope code? --- In zope(a)yahoogroups.com, Bill Seitz <fluxent@y...> wrote: > Well, I put in a dtmlrequest method, and it says > > URL 'http://webseitz.fluxent.com/wiki/dtmlrequest' > > so I guess URL must be a string. > > see http://webseitz.fluxent.com/wiki/ZopeGetSliceBug > > --- Troy Farrell <troy@e...> wrote: > > > > > One thing that might help: create a dtml method in > > a folder above this > > one with this one line in it: > > > > <dtml-var REQUEST> > > > > Then visit > > > http://server/folderparent/foldernotworking/dtmlrequest > > and > > see what it tells you. PostgreSQL Databases
by Thomas Mathes 16 Jul '03

Hello, I want to insert data into a PostgreSQL Database over an external Method. My problem is that I don't know how to implement a reasonable exception Handling. I don't know which classes I should use. I did the same thing with ODBC, but there was a special class which has to be used for this error Handling(sql).

As Andreas said, you can install it on another place. Just read the configure script and see which flags you have to set. If I'm not wrong, it's something like: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/myDirectory Then, you have to compile python-ldap using the open ldap that you installed from source (modify setup.cfg) Regards, Josef

object catalog

Is there somewhere documentation on all the most common zope objects, including what methods they have? It would really be cool to have a general document that specify what objects there are in standard zope, cmf, and plone, AND what methods each of those ojbects have... hey, does this sound like documentation for a class library? -- David Bear phone: 480-965-8257 fax: 480-965-9189 College of Public Programs/ASU Wilson Hall 232 Tempe, AZ 85287-0803 "Beware the IP portfolio, everyone will be suspect of trespassing"

Hi, Is there any pdf of an updated version of the Zope Developer's Guide? As I saw that the one in http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZDG/current/ is outdated (Zope 2.4 edition) and some things aren't the same as you can notice on this comment: Hello.implementedByInstancesOf(HelloComponent) icemac - Apr. 9, 2003 9:12 am: now, as of Zope 2.6.1 it is: isImplementedByInstancesOf source: http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZDG/current/ComponentsAndInterfaces… thanks in advanced, Josef

Everytime I put a package that I have compiled things go wrong in RH... Say, any special options I should pay attention to in an OpenLDAP rebuild?
