Ok, maybe not really Zope 100% but still: did anybody successfully used python-ldap with python 2.2 to build a Zope product? I suspect is not really Zope related but upon startup I get in the Zope console: 2003-07-16T21:43:31 ERROR(200) Zope Could not import Products.Register Traceback (innermost last): File /home/Zope-2.6.1-8080/lib/python/OFS/Application.py, line 541, in import_product File /home/Zope-2.6.1-8080/lib/python/Products/Register/__init__.py, line 1, in ? OT: Can someone translate some German for me?
by Bobb 16 Jul '03

16 Jul '03

I have something I'm selling on Ebay, and after 8 years of german (some time ago), I will always stink at it. If one of my German Zope buddies could email me off the list, I'd appreciate it. This list is my only venue to get across the Atlantic. Thanks in advance.

I'll bet all the docs are in files there, possibly even the famous README. Just to be clear: Zope really needs to deal with users in UserFolder ways. I suppose you could hack something onto the side, and do all your own authentication, authorization, management, etc. But why? But a UserFolder needn't be ZODB-backed, and it certainly neen't be the one shipped with Zope. A user folder can be backed any way someone might care to program, so with something like XUF or SimpleUserFolder, or even a (probably fictional) PostgresUserFolder you can have Zope use and manage your existing store of users, which you can still use and manage however else you were used to doing it previously. --jcc

Re: CheckBoxes, dynamic lists and SQL insert statements

Hi list, Sorry about the messyness of my previous post, I'd forgotten to shift the email type to plain text. I've modified the code from before, but Its still not working. <form action="meth_step_2" name="form2"> <table> <tr> <td> <input type='checkbox' name='marketinglist:list' checked value=''></input> </td> <td></td> </tr> <TR><TD><button type="submit">Add</button></TD></TR> </form> </table> When I display within the in statement, the correct values display, they're just not seeming to make it to my query. insert into mHoldingTable ( dealer_code ) values ( <dtml-sqlvar sequence-item type="string" > ); This is the error... Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: ['sequence-item'] Again, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ Julian Clark julcla(a)b-online.com.au Ph: +61 8 9463 5069 ______________________________________________________ Hi all, I'm feeling rather thick, as I've been reading through some of a similar question from about 2 years back ( http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-August/097408.html ) and I'm not quite understanding it. What I am trying to achieve is to pull some date from one table by an SQL query, and have the results selectable/de-selectable by the form of a checkbox - to then be dumped into a temporary table. I'm guessing that it's probably something simple, and I'm just too close to the code. This here is my selection via checkbox form.. this seems to pass the information to my next step ok... I believe that I have a problem with how I am interpreting this data. <form action="meth_step_2" name="form2"> <table> <tr> <td> <input type='checkbox' name='marketinglist:list' checked value=''></input> </td> <td></td> </tr> <TR><TD><button type="submit">Add</button></TD></TR> </form> </table> insert into mHoldingTable ( dealer_code ) values ( <dtml-sqlvar dealer_code type="string" > ); What I am wanting to appear in the holding table is a whole lot of separate records, each containing only a dealer_code (which is a 4 digit integer - text field in the DB though) I'm using Zope 2.3.3 attempting to inserting into MS Access 2000. Thanks in advance. ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ Julian Clark julcla(a)b-online.com.au Ph: +61 8 9463 5069 ______________________________________________________

paypal IPN
by Ed Colmar 15 Jul '03

15 Jul '03

I've been doing some searching for python tools to use paypal's IPN service. I found this page: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/pdn/article_pdn_intro-outside Which kinda helps, at least it's the right language... But it's written as a cgi script, so I'm a bit confused on the "args" Is anyone using an external method or product for this? I wrote a quick product shell and I'm looking for any code I can drop in there. Any tips or refrences greatly appreciated. -ed- -- Green Graphics ::: Print and Web Design ::: 510.923.0000

Dtml-if question
by yan zhang 15 Jul '03

15 Jul '03

Hi All, I am very confusion about the following question: dtml-if to test an integer and string. Two sql methods: 1) testPassword select pd from reader where <dtml-sqltest name op=eq type=string > 2) getID (This parameter (pID) is an integer, if signed reader, pID = 1, if not signed, pID = 0) select pID from reader where <dtml-sqltest name op=eq type=string > Form: <form name="Form" method="GET" action="TestpID"> <font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva" size=-1>ID:</font> <input name=name size=20 maxlength=32> <br><font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva" size=-1>Password:</font> <input name=pd size=20 maxlength=32> <br><font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva" size=4> <input type=submit value="Test"> </form> Dtml method: 1)TestpID <dtml-try> <dtml-if "pd == testPassword(name=_['name'])"> Work now <dtml-else> not works </dtml-if> </dtml-try> Problem is: I always get the "not works" result. 2)1)TestpID <dtml-try> <dtml-if "getID(name=_['name']) == 1"> Work now <dtml-else> not works </dtml-if> </dtml-try> Problem is: I always get the "not works" result, Even I test zsql method is right. Many thanks for any of your advice. Yan __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! http://sbc.yahoo.com

How to hide Zope search results?
by G. Heim 15 Jul '03

15 Jul '03

I would like to hide some Zope search results, how do I do that? I have a (plone) folder which is only accessible to the group "members", but whenever I do a search for a text string contained in a document in that folder, that document is also returned when I query for it as an anonymous (non-authenticated) user and I'd rather not have it returned at all. In fact, I only want the search results concerning the folder only accessible to group "members", whenever someone from group "members" is quering for it.
