MS Explorer Cache
by Jerry Westrick 08 Jul '03

08 Jul '03

Hello: I got a problem keeping Internet Explorer from returning values from the cache instead of getting the new values of external files being downloaded. Sometimes a "refresh" will get IE to get the new values, and somtimes I have to delete all temporary files. Does anybody know how IE to fix this? Is there a parameter in IE to say DONOT cache this site? Is there something I can do to the External Files to enfluence IE? Jerry Westrick

Re: Using C with Zope and/or external methods

Thanks all so far. Sean/Charlie/Dylan. Sean: I found this also after i sent the post(i searched for "C zope" in google) and this looks like the answer. I will try it out tonight. Dylan: http://www.swig.org - seems to be a half solution as it makes C inerpreted(through python) which may defeat the purpose of using C (not including the rewriting of the C module into Python). That is if i understand it from my brief read. Charlie: I will do this with the info found from Seans response(http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-pyzo.html) Thanks All, I wil put together a How-to from this if it differs from http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-pyzo.html Wayne __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Zope DTML zSQL Select from Oracle insert into MS Access
by Julian Clark 08 Jul '03

08 Jul '03

Hi, I've been trying (rather unsuccessfully i might add) to select some data from an oracle table, and insert it into another MS Access table. I'm trying to do this via a dtml method and a couple of zSQL queries. Has anyone here found a good way of achieving this? I've been trying many variants... this is my latest... TheForm <form name='form1' action='meth_step'> <tr> <td>Start Date</td> <td><input type='text' name='start_date'></input> <td>End Date <input type='text' name='end_date'></input> <input type='submit' name='Go'></input></td> </form> Oracle Select select H.mobile_no as mobile_number, H.DEALER_NO as dealer_code, SCD.ENTRY_DATE as date_added from jan.sc_detail SCD, jan.handset H where SCD.handset_code = H.code and SCD.comments = 'SERVICE ADDED' and SCD.ENTRY_DATE > ('<dtml-var start_date>') and SCD.ENTRY_DATE < ('<dtml-var end_date>') and (H.status = 'A' or H.status = 'B') and (H.DEALER_NO NOT BETWEEN '0000' and '0004') Dtml method ('meth_step') MS Access Insert INSERT into mConnectList ( dealer_code, mobile_number, date_added ) values ( ) Thanks Julian.

For starteres, have you looked at this? http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-pyzo.html You would need to write a C "python" module - that leveraged all your C code as a library, and compiled against the version of Python you are using; you could then use this within Python product or External method code. Hi! I want to pickle parts of my ZODB database and import it on a different system. Is it possible to use the pickle module? The first try results in: Error Type: UnpickleableError Error Value: Cannot pickle <extension class Acquisition.ImplicitAcquirerWrapper at 40225280> objects How can I ignore some parts in pickle.dump()? I think it is not save to ignore things in __getstate__. thomas Please CC to me

I just joined the list, so I don't know exactly what the question was. But I too have found the caching in IE to me PITA. I gave up and downloaded the Firebird Version of Mozilla: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/release-notes.html It's basically a stripped down version of Mozilla (ie Browser only, no email or news). It works really well. When you close the browser, it DOES NOT retain any login information in regards to Zope. charlie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jaroslav Lukesh" <lukesh(a)seznam.cz> To: "Scott Burchill" <scott(a)zopeworks.us> Cc: <zope(a)zope.org> Sent: Monday, July 07, 2003 3:02 PM Subject: Re: [Zope] MS Explorer Cache > Odesílatel: Scott Burchill <scott(a)zopeworks.us> > Try: Tools > Internet Options... > Temporary Internet Files > "Settings..." button > Check for newer versions of stored pages: "Every > visit to the page" radio button. > > This is how I have IE set. Filling in the contents of a file...
by Jerry Westrick 07 Jul '03

07 Jul '03

Fellow Zopistas: I'm been beeting my head here for the longest time trying to figure out how to do things in Zope (DTML, Script(Python)), and find myself often resorting to guessing until I get it right... Now I'm an expirience programmer, and find this extreemely fustrating... Can someone please tell me where I should be looking to find out what you can do with Zope Objects? The latest epsiode includes how to change the contents of an Image(file) from within a python script.... Or for that matter any file.... Jerry (very fustrated) Westrick P.S. Although tips on how to do this would be very much much appreciated... Tips on how to find this stuff out would really make my day(week, month, year?)
