For example, in MSIE4 this does not work. You need to use this for browser-wide compatibility: <input name="created" size="20" value="1971/01/01"> Bank on python, where you could not sometimes define string types 8-) Regards, JL.

Yes, it is, but you need it compile manually - it is option in makefile config. JL.

I know that is impossible to cache all. But you could use ESI, where yoou could non-cache only parts of pages (!!!) google: squid esi zope www.esi.org Regards, JL. ---------- Odeslatel: Chris McDonough <chrism(a)zope.com> On Tue, 2003-07-08 at 09:15, Jaroslav Lukesh wrote: > > Odeslatel: Chris McDonough <chrism(a)zope.com> > > - The initial hardware investment (if you need it) will cost about > > US$3.5 million+ (1660 servers * 2100/apiece). > > > > and what about squid and ESI? These technologies rapidly scales down your > hardware! We have plenty of Squid in there. 966 servers worth of Squid, by my estimations. ;-) But this is a moot point for Wayne because he can't cache anything.

RE: [Zope] Zope product for CRM ?
by Samir Mishra 09 Jul '03

09 Jul '03

short answer - if your requirements are simple, do it yourself. If your requirements are more complex, a) try & do it yourself, b) look at the Java web framework space for open source, c) get your company to pay for a product. Customisation will be a pain, no matter what route you take. Zope has acquisition & security built in, this is half the work right there, and should not be taken lightly. -----Original Message----- From: Sinclair [mailto:fred.duwez@freesurf.fr] Sent: Tuesday, July 08, 2003 18:06 To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Zope product for CRM ? Hi folks, I am looking for a Zope product for Costumer Relationship Management. I haven't found such kind of product yet... Do I have to implement it myself ? Any idea to do it ? Which existing product can help me ? I need to link it to an adress book too. Directory traversal like zope in Apache?
by Peter Schmiedeskamp 09 Jul '03

09 Jul '03

OK, so I'm forced to use Apache when I'd rather use Zope :-) My question is (crossing fingers that someone else has run into this): Does anyone know of a way (other than using pcgi and Zope) to enable Zope-style directory traversals in Apache? This is the one that allows me to put a header_html file at the top level and any references further down the tree will traverse up until it finds a header_html file. I hope I'm not the only person to have needed something like this. I swear I've seen it before, but sadly, Google isn't helping today. -Peter

ZCatalog: Editing Metadata Key Values....
by Charlie Jones 09 Jul '03

09 Jul '03

I am in the process of moving a CMFCollectorNG instance from one Plone portal to another. While copying the CollectorNG folder and re-indexing the catalog gets things running, there is a problem with the catalog. It seems that the Issue data is stored as Metadata key/value pairs. During the re-index, that information is lost. I am assuming that the it is placed there via a form submission. But for the life of me I can't figure out how. I have managed to query the information from the old collector catalog....now I just need to know how set those values in the new catalog. If anyone can shed some light on this I would be very grateful... Charlie Jones

Moving items from 2.6.1 to 2.5.1 ??
by Ted Pollari 08 Jul '03

08 Jul '03

Hey folks, We've got a production machine running Zope 2.5.1 and one of our developers has a machine running Zope 2.6.1. Will we have any sort of problems moving (exporting then importing) folders, dtml-methods, dtml-documents, and python scripts from the newer version to the older version? Thanks, Ted
