Redirect if SyntaxError
by Thomas Guettler 07 Apr '03

07 Apr '03

Hi! If you have a typo in your source while developing a python product, you only get a traceback in the log and zope uses the code from memory. It would be nice to get redirected to a page displaying the error. I tried to add a try ... except clause in the __init__.py of my product, but I can't get access to the request or response variable. Any hints? Thomas -- Thomas Guettler <guettli(a)thomas-guettler.de> http://www.thomas-guettler.de

PROPFIND, Word, and Zope
by Bert Vanderbauwhede 07 Apr '03

07 Apr '03

Hi, Sometimes, when someone tries to open a Word document directly in Internet Explorer, a whole bunch of PROPFIND requests are sent to the server. As a result, Zope behaves erratically (stylesheets and pictures aren't sent to the client, external scripts return exceptions...). Is there a way to avoid this behavior? I have closed the WebDAV port, but these requests are sent to the default HTTP port. Configuration: RedHat Linux 8.0 Apache 1.3 with FastCGI Zope 2.5.1 Bert Vanderbauwhede... --- "When you find yourself in the company of a halfling and an ill-tempered dragon, remember, you do not have to outrun the dragon... For example: - return 0 if no upgrade needed - return 1 of upgrade succeeded - raise an exception if upgrade failed Otherwise you won't know how to behave with the function. Other than that there isn't much interfacing to do. :) Well, it could be nice to agree on the attribute for object version info too.

Replacing index_html with index.html
by Niclas Kuehne 07 Apr '03

07 Apr '03

Hello everyone: I am trying to display "index.html" in a folder instead of index_html by default. This is what I put in my "index_html" in the root folder: <dtml-if index.html> <html> <head> <title>Redirection</title> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=&dtml-absolute_url;/index.html"> </head> <body> </body> </html> </dtml-if> It used to work just fine with Zope 2.3.3, but after upgrading to Zope 2.6.1 it fails with the message: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: __call__() takes exactly 2 arguments (1 given) Can anyone help? Thank you very much! Nic

how to get the author of a modification ?
by Sylvain Thénault 07 Apr '03

07 Apr '03

hi folks ! I'ld like to make a history of latest change on a web site. To do so I fetch the latest modified object using a catalog query on ModificationDate. The problem is that I'ld like to display the modification's author, which is not a property of the object. I guess that I need to find the transaction associated with the modification to get this information but I don't know how to do that... Any idea ? -- Sylvain Thénault LOGILAB, Paris (France). http://www.logilab.com http://www.logilab.fr http://www.logilab.org
