Hi, I'm having a hard time with page templates using unicode. Here is a simple example: - create a page template called dejavu Encoding is utf-8. Check also your browser character encoding to be set to unicode as well. - put this into the page template.: IMPORTANT: Since this discussion is in ASCII, I can't write the correct deja vu string here. When testing please use the correct spelling. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dejavu :-) <span tal:replace="structure python:u'deja vu'"></span> When I test this template i will not get deja vu but instead garbled characters for e and a. Pickle error and Zeo setup

BlankHi, I am trying to update the 'SiteRootBase' in the secure.xml file and do import in zope , but I get error as shown in the screenshot. I did same with secure.zexp and another error : cannot convert long int.... , i face when i import that file. Why zope2.8.5 does not allow importing secure file after update. I need to change /set the 'SiteRootBase' , is there any other way to achieve that? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Secondly I am setting up a ZEO server and I move the data.fs to ZEO storage location. Q1. The data.fs I moved has SiteRootBase set to one of the zeo client URL. I have another zeoclient which runs on a different URL/subdomain. As a result I see the same secure on another zeoclient ZMI, but as the SiteRootBase is set to the primary zeo client, Will this affect the request that will be diverted to the second zeo client ? Q2. What settings I need to do to set up 2 zeo clients as I have one ZEO server running so that requests are properly served. I am using mirroring feature from primary zeo client to divert request to another zeo client randomly. Any help is appreciated in advance. Regards SuSon

ZODB FileStorage inspection tool: treenalyser

Hi. I created a ZODB FileStorage inspection tool which originaly derived from netspace.py (as of zope 2.8.8). I was especially interested in actual object content, so this script offers the possibility to hex dump objects, and exports some more knobs (recursion depth, subtree selection, more verbosity levels) as parameters and adds some features (python-friendly path rendering, recursion depth error handled). I removed the pack-before-use feature as I consider it out of place (packing considered a read-only operation doesn't mean it should be made available in every tool doing read-only operations...). folders show with firefox but not IE7

Anyone experiencing weird behavior with IE 7? I was creating folders into a folder that had exiting folders and the new folders wouldn't show up (old ones did show)until I did a paste of a different folder. Then all the folders showed up. I removed the user folder and a catalog from that folder and still saw the same problem. Then I switched to firefox and everything was back to normal. All the folders appeared upon creation. Virtual host monster question

Hi! I create a website in development environment that works fine But when I try to put it on the production server links stop working Why? Seems is a question of VHM misconfiguration I have a domain www.example.com who host the server but the website (at www.example.com/Webs/myclient) is on www.myclient.com When I visit www.myclient.com seems to work ok but If I put the mouse over a link the url is not translated by VHM I spect for: www.myclient.com/Page1 The reality is I have: www.example.com/Webs/myclient/Page1 Can you see what is happening? Hi; I just built out a new server according to a formulary I´ve worked before without any problems. Now, however, I have a bug in ALL of my Zope sites that throws a strange attribute error for various attributes that have always worked in the past (see thread "AttributeError: Can´t Pin It Down!"). I built everything from *.zexp files when my sites were working fine on my old server. I can send you the exact formulary I used to build the server (on FBSD). I have lost a couple of weeks over this silly problem that no one on the list has been able to address. HELP! Write me off list. Give me your hourly rate. SiteErrorLog

I've been playing with a new monkey patch product for zope 2.8 (at least) and I confidentally call it 'BetterSiteErrorLog'. The only two features I've added so far is to make the error log searchable and that it shows the date of errors older than one day. What other products are there out there already that I should look at? Quesiton about retrieving the base object

Hello, I have a custom product that has a ZFile as its base class. I tried importing the file on the upgraded platform, but I got the "Operation not supported" error. I have a ton of these objects that show up as "broken". Question: I still have my old Zope server running, is it possible to extract the files as regular Zope Files so I can transfer them over?
