Yes, here is a how to: http://www.zope.org/Members/beacon/install_instructions And if you want to run Zope with a dedicated user, don't forget to read "SETUID.txt" in the "doc" folder. accessing zclass properties
by Rocky Burt 08 Feb '03

08 Feb '03

I have ZClass MyZClass in product MyProduct. MyZClass defines property sheet MyZClass_properties. One of the properties is a list (named 'MyList') with values 1, 2, 3 (3 numbers). I need to access that list from my TTW python script elsewhere in the system. I've noticed that I can't import "Products.MyProduct". Is there some other way to get at the data stored in the MyList property? I don't want to have to define my selection data twice. - Rocky (r0ky)

help! url <-> object mapping?
by Mark Anquoe 08 Feb '03

08 Feb '03

I am relatively new to zope. Thank you in advance for any help. here is my situation: user enters url zope maps url to object zope stitches together a frames html page according to my structure of inherited attributes. one of the html pages in the returned frameset needs to change itself depending on what type of object was asked for by the initial url request. I know I can get the initial requested url through the request object request = container.REQUEST and I know that all these objects have meta_type attributes. But how do I find a reference to the object to which zope has mapped the requested url that I can then test for its meta_type? I keep coming back to this bit of code in the page: fullpath = request.get('full') if not fullpath: fullpath = '0:%s' % url_quote(request.URL1) bookmarkid = context.db.get_link_id(fullpath) something related to the unique ID looks promising, but I have found no api that details the various methods available to call on the context or db objects. any help is appreciated. thank you.

NauSite product not appearing
by Blurg 08 Feb '03

08 Feb '03

Hello, My NauSite is not appearing in my product list, and the permissions are okay: (GNU/Debian Linux, Zope 2.6.1) hgsvr210:/usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Products# ls -l total 54 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 312 Jan 10 08:42 ActivePak/ drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 512 Jan 10 08:41 CMFCalendar/ drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 2832 Jan 10 08:41 CMFCore/ drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 1784 Jan 10 08:41 CMFDefault/ drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 1336 Feb 6 12:51 CMFNauTools/ drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 2744 Jan 10 08:42 CMFPlone/ drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 880 Jan 10 08:41 CMFTopic/ .... [etc].... I restarted the Zope engine several times, but nothing is happening, when I say: http://machine.domain:9673/manage_addProduct/CMFNauTools/dtml/AddNauSite (witthout the dtml) it's either not working. I tried the product on 2 seperate machines, in both cases the product is not appearing, and all other products went well. Any idea why the product is not appearing? How to serve huge file/document?
by Gilles 08 Feb '03

08 Feb '03

Hello Sorry if this is well known but how can I serve big file with zope? Big is more than 1Gb, stored on the fileSystem and accessed with the LocalFs product. If I try to get a big file, it is fully reared in memory (I think) before being send, which cause unacceptable performance. ??? Gilles

passing variables with POST method
by Eugen Nedelcu 08 Feb '03

08 Feb '03

Hi, Does anyone knows if there's a method with ZOPE to pass variables through POST method, beside using forms? Something like this: REQUEST.RESPONSE.redirect('url',query) with the effect of the following code in usual python: >>> import urllib >>> params = urllib.urlencode({'spam': 1, 'eggs': 2, 'bacon': 0}) >>> f = urllib.urlopen("http://www.musi-cal.com/cgi-bin/query", params) TIA. -- ICQ: 165549179
