question re: HTTP 500 in MSIE
by Boyd, Robert, CTR, OSD-PA&E 07 Feb '03

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Hello, First off, I know this is in the collector, number 382, but I'm wondering what others' experience is. I was using 2.5.1 and had a site using exUserFolder for authentication (pgAuth), and had no problems in Internet Explorer, even with IE option to 'Show friendly error messages'. As soon as I tried to migrate my site to Zope 2.6.1b2, I started getting the IE error message 500. The submitter of issue # 382 says the bug was seen in 2.4, so I'm wondering why no bug in 2.5.1 but now it's buggy in 2.6.1? Diffing HTTPResponse.py doesn't show anything that looks significant to me. I don't really like the option to edit HTTPResponse.py to return '200' instead of '500', but are others running into this and solving the problem this way? Thanks, Rob Boyd

Re: [Zope] ANNOUNCE: CMFPortlets 0.5.2 released: Portlets get interactive
by Ausum Studio 07 Feb '03

Not at this time. I've delayed to release the installer because there's a problem in Plone regarding SkinnedFolders (provided by CMFDefault) and its own portal folders, that need to be worked out first. Furthermore, CMFPortlet's code is ready to run in there. Fun with FSRECOVER
by Edward Pollard 07 Feb '03

07 Feb '03

I caught wind of fscheck and fsrecover via a discussion on this list. A test run on a backup of the data.fs file gave some interesting results. The interesting parts of the output are included below. So, can someone tell me what this all means, and what I should do with it? Would swapping in the "recovered" data.fs result in data loss? I'm not really sure what fsrecover does, although I've seen it implied that its a good thing. Any advice or resources on the subject of proper data.fs handling and care would be wonderful. presenting partial page
by Dilley, Hara 06 Feb '03

06 Feb '03

I have an application that asks users to fill in a form. Users fill in and submit the form which it takes a few minutes to be processed. While is being processed the users still see the form and not the uncompleted page that displays the results. I would like to be able to present to the users a message like "This action will take a few minutes to be completed --Please wait" What is the best way of accomplishing that? TIA Hara

Re: [Zope] Re: Newbie: Creating PDF Documents on the fly in Zope
by Ashley Lloyd 06 Feb '03

06 Feb '03

Thanks for the help. I've tried that one before. It seemed to work fine until I actually tried to view the PDF (ie add the /html2pdf extension). The page that appears is blank (at least on my machine .. no source code at all - but no "Page Not Found" error either). I looked at the manual, and only the version that you pay for seems to have the functionality that we need. Since we want to try it out before even thinking about paying for a product, that one isn't really an option. Besides, from what I've been told it doesn't allow for page breaks, etc in the way that we'd like. Thank you once again for your help. [ANN] CMFCollectorNG 0.20 Beta 2 released
by Andreas Jung 06 Feb '03

06 Feb '03

I am pleased to announce the release of CMFCollectorNG 0.20 beta2 CMFCollectorNG is a Zope/CMF-based bugtracking system (based on CMFCollector). Major features of CMFCollectorNG: * major code cleanup and complete new skins * very generic to add new ticket properties to a tracker * enhanced tracker configuration through the web * extend usage of the CMF memberdata tool to store user informations and user preferences * rewritten transcript to keep issue related informations in an abstract format to produce different output (HTML, plain text for email notifications) * tickets can have references to other tickets (also across CMFCollectorNG instances) * dedicated views for uploaded files and references to other tickets * better roles management: o TrackerAdmins manage the tracker o Supporters can file tickets, create followups, upload files, add references to other tickets o Reporters can file new tickets and upload files and references * XML export (to be used with XMLRPC) * watchlist/monitoring functionality * Plone compatibility * much more minor improvements (too much to mention them :-) ) Changes since 0.20 Beta 1: * Anonymous users are no longer permitted to upload files to avoid misuse (upload of inappropriate content) * added support for issues submissions through email * the CMFCollectorNG class now has a migrate method to update an instance to new collector properties * moved watchlist_action.py to scripts folder * support for non-US dates (requires Zope 2.7 or included patches) * bugfixes/code cleanup Project page: http://www.zope.org/Members/ajung/CMFCollectorNG/Wiki/FrontPage Downloads: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=68417 --------------------------------------------------------------------- - Andreas Jung http://www.andreas-jung.com - - EMail: andreas at andreas-jung.com - - "Life is too short to (re)write parsers" - ---------------------------------------------------------------------

bobobase_modification_time stuck after system date change (back 1 month)
by Gilles Lenfant 06 Feb '03

06 Feb '03

Hi, I installed a brand new Zope on a server (redhat) on which the system date was 1 month ahead (2003 March 3 for today). The system admin just corrected the system date/time today, but when creating a new object after this, its bobobase_modification_time() is still shifted 1 month ahead, when DateTime() shows the (corrected) system date !!! Even after a Zope restart. Why does this happend ? How can I fix this ? Many thanks in advance for any hint ! --Gilles
