I think that the question was "I have DTML source in a database. Can I retrieve and render this source?" (which seems rather dangerous to me, but anyway... You'd have to look at creating a DTMLDocument object (in memory), insert the source, then call it (which will render it). The zope server is directly accessable via http. The PCGI port is being listened to by the zope process. The configuration file is correct and a similar setup is working on another server. The process id in the PID file is correct. Rebooting the machine fixes the problem temporarily but soon after the problem kicks in again. Just restarting zope seems to make no difference. We're at a loss as to what can be the cause of this or how to fix this, hense this trouble ticket. We have integrated with IIS authentication so direct zope http serving is not an option. Currently our intranet site has been unavailable for serveral days while we try to work this out. Any help or fixes in this area would be greatly appreciated. Developing products in anticipation of Zope 3

Hi All, I have a rather big and complex portal project that'll take at least half a year to complete (plus, I need to pack in e-commerce and club features to accomodate the existing user base, a huge one). Taking CMF and/or Plone as it is would need too much customization. Still, basing my project on CMF is an option I'm considering. Until now, I've been coding this portal from scratch with no dependency on any other product and it's usable with 1.0b tag. (It's in no way complete and not public yet, but if you want to see it in action visit http://www.neoboard.net. Only a minimum set of features - navigation, article system, etc - are visible since my other open source project "NeoBoard" doesn't require Membership and stuff.). What holds me back from going ahead with my plan is... Zope 3. I read an interview article where Jim Fulton **hoped** Zope 3 would be available in **a** usable form in July or early this fall. Against this backdrop, what would you do if you were in my shoes? 1. Go ahead with the no-dependency plan with all modules having distinct connecting points with Zope so that I could plug them into Zope 3 some day. (Is it even possible? Not sure if Zope2 products would seemlessly integrate into Zope3. Jim's interview suggested Zope3 would offer backward compatibility but also suggested that Zope2 products would have to get upgraded to Zope3 architecture anyway.) 2. Base my project on CMF since CMF will be integrated into Zope 3 Core. I'm a bit reluctant to taking this option since, again, too much customization is called for. I'd have to override almost all tools/types plus authentication scheme in order to accomodate the existing user base. (Guess it'll take a lot of re-coding anyhow with Zope 3 even if I push ahead with this plan.) 3. Create a Zope 3 sandbox. Experiment with it and get on with the project inching along with Zope3 development. Learn-and-develop-as-I-go approach, sort of. I'm pretty much inclined to option number 3. I don't want my project to become a dinasaur when Zope 3 surfaces. (Wouldn't I see myself having to upgrade my product the moment Zope 3 gets here in full swing just when I thought the project was over?) Any thoughts/help will be appreciated. Regards, Wankyu Choi

Hi, all. I have some dtml stored in an SQL table. I would like to be able to retrieve it and execute it. I can't find any documentation on this - I seem to remember something about eval, but I can't find anything. Also - I would like to be able to do this from a PythonScript. Thanks! Embedding SQL Forms into DTML Methods

Ioan, The new version seems great. Documentation is done very well. Here is where I am still stuck though. It's a long one. Under "How To Include" in the help instructions you give directions for embedding the generated methods into other DTML Documents/Methods. I have a SQL Form named 'contacts_manager' in the Contacts folder that I am calling from a DTML Method in the Contacts folder like this: <dtml-var "Contacts.contacts_manager.list(_.None,_)"> So as I understand it, you are passing a None value and the current namespace to the generated list method. In this case 'contacts_manager.list'. When I use <dtml-var> to call the list method I get a 'KeyError:table_cell_spacing' error. I looked at the list method and found that it is indeed asking for a 'table_cell_spacing' variable at line 18. I added a <dtml-with "Contacts.contacts_manager.list> surrounding the <dtml-var> which pushed table_cell_spacing into the namespace. After I did this I could view the page with the list method embedded. So far, So good. Now, If click on the 'List','Add', or 'Edit'(key field) links it tries to open: http://localhost:8080/Test/Contacts/(list,add,edit) The links should point to: http://localhost:8080/Test/Contacts/contacts_manager/list,add,edit) It seems to me that the generated methods are only configured to be called directly. The generated add, list, and edit links point to the container of the DTML Method that they are embedded in. In other words, the links expect an SQL Form to be their container. Am I correct? standard_error_message question

Hi, I was trying out the suggestions regarding custom error handling mentioned @ http://www.zope.org/Members/JohnC/StandardErrorMessage and put a simple <dtml-if "error_type=='NotFound'"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(errors.e404.absolute_url())"> </dtml-if> at the top of my standard_error_message. Unfortunately when I try to hit a non-existant page I do not get redirected to the right page, I still get the Debugging Notice.... blah blah blah If I put a <dtml-var error_type> at the top I do get the NotFound at the top of the error page. WHy is this not being handled. Localizer - how to delete a property

Hello, my fingers were faster then my brain. To one of my LocalContent objects I added a localized property "default_template". Of course I can no longer view this object. How can I delete the property.
