hello and thanks for your help.. I did a plugin for PAS and iwant to read the users from de acl_users to validate and i did this: def authenticateCredentials(self, credentials): """ Authentication Part """ acl = self.getUserFolder() // Is this ok? login = credentials.get('login', '') password = credentials.get('password', '') if not acl or not login or not password: return (None, None) user = acl.getUser(login) if user is None: return (None, None) elif user and (user.getPassword() == password): return ( user.getId(), login ) return (None, None) But it don´t work. Is there any way to turn off the publishing of external methods to the web in Zope?

I have an external method which uses eval(). I would like to prevent anyone from calling this method from inside a URL, e.g., myzopesite/myexternalmethod?myvar=deletemyfiles() Rather, I wish for only Zope objects such as Python Scripts to be able to call this external method. Is there any way to turn off the publishing of external methods to the web in Zope?

Which Products Folder?

Hi, I am very new to Zope, Zope is running fine, but I dont know the Products-Folder to copy new Products: zope 2.94 C:\Programme\CPS3.4.0-3\Zope\lib\python\Products C:\Programme\CPS3.4.0-3\Zope\skel\Products C:\Programme\Zope-2.9.4\lib\python\Products C:\Programme\Zope-2.9.4\skel\Products ZMI is working fine, nuxeo cps, too. Have I to create a new Folder somewhere, I want to add Products like calzope cpsgroupware? I have a similar problem with the Import folder. Which one is the right, just importing inside a folder of the ZMI? Resolving ConflictError

I've recently encountered my first ConflictError. I am hosting multiple sites in this ZODB, and each of them is using a LDAPLoginAdapter as an acl_users: Traceback (innermost last): Module Zope2.App.startup, line 167, in zpublisher_exception_hook</li> Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 120, in publish</li> Module Zope2.App.startup, line 233, in commit</li> Module transaction._manager, line 84, in commit</li> Module transaction._transaction, line 381, in commit</li> Module transaction._transaction, line 379, in commit</li> Module transaction._transaction, line 424, in _commitResources</li> Module ZODB.Connection, line 462, in commit</li> Module ZODB.Connection, line 495, in _commit</li> ConflictError: database conflict error (oid 0x013b3f, class Products.LDAPLoginAdapter.LDAPLoginAdapter.LDAPLoginAdapter) Once this error started occurring on one of the acl_users, I've now seen it on several of them. The websites are still useable, as this error only occurs several times per day, out of ~100s of requests. Searching on google, however, doesn't really give me too much insight into figuring out what my next step is. I'd obviously like to figure out what code is causing the ConflictError, and how I can get rid of it and/or fix the code that is causing it. I've read enough from google searching to familiarize myself with the fs* tools (fsrefs, fsdump), but I'm not sure where to go from there. Thanks in advance, John Ziniti

zope replication

Has anybody out there had any experience replicating (for the purpose of failover) zope databases, using Zope Replication Services or anything else? Is anyone familiar with the heartbeat, fake or ultramonkey tools? I’m just starting to look at these now and wanted to see what the experience of others was. I assume this is fairly common with Zope and Plone installations. Client Disconnected

Occasionally a client in our ZEO setup will lose it's connection to the ZEO Server. I suspect some user is trying to commit something that is taking excessively long, perhaps uploading a very large file. Anyway, when a client is disconnected should it not try to reconnect? The min-disconnect-poll and max-disconnect-poll are set to the default. It seems that the clients NEVER reconnect until Zope is restarted. Session Timeout Troubles

Hi, We're using Zope 2.8.8 with a bunch of client sites set up in various sub directories / databases. We're using ZEO for the database storage and a local zodb file for the temporary data. I've recently been asked to set the system to user sessions time out after 15 minutes of activity. I've changed the setting in our zope.conf file (the session timeout value) and restarted zope. However, if I open a page on the site that requires logon and log in, then leave the browser alone for 15 or 20 minutes or even an hour, when I click on a link, it doesn't force me to re-authenticate... it just works as normal. I'm hoping someone could tell me if there's other stuff I need to do to make the session time out and force reauthentication at the server level (rather than having to add code to every user site, as we have over 500 different ones and I'm not sure there's something common enough for me to hook into if I have to alter code on the sites themselves to enable this. It's okay if I get back a response that it can't be done, but I have to be able to provide my boss with a difinitive answer. http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1073504990 In addition to the information on this page I have found that you can also run the following command at a (gdb) prompt to get a list of URLs being processed by the misbehaving thread: call PyRun_SimpleString("import string,sys,os,ZServer; sys.stdout=open('/tmp/urls','w',0); print string.join(map(lambda a:str(getattr(a,'env',{}).get('PATH_INFO','')), sys.modules['asyncore'].socket_map.values()), '\\n')") It's doing a bunch of stuff to try to format the file nicely into a file /tmp/urls, it can probably be simplified. There may also be an altogether better way of approaching it. Just thought I'd throw this in.
