Got the same advice from all and still can't make it allow me to create project. Somethings missing but don't know what it is. Maybe the version of ZOPE is wrong? Zope 2.5 on Debian. I'll throw in the towel for now and use IssueTracker. Philippe Jadin <all(a)123piano.com> on 07/18/2002 01:27:22 PM To: Eric N. Dunn/USA/BAC@BankofAmerica cc: Subject: Re[2]: BITS Create a user for yourself in the BITS acl_users folder and give you all the BITS-specific roles. This will enable new menu items in the bits interface. At least for me it worked (you could create a new instance of bits with it's own user folder and see if it works) hth Philippe -- Philippe Jadin 123piano.com

RE: [Zope] Changing a Zope environment variable?

Thanks Jerome/Chris, Adding a new Windows System Variable, and restarting the Zope service, didn't seem to do the trick... But, modifying start.bat to look like this - "E:\Zope\Zope-2.5.1\bin\python.exe" "E:\Zope\Zope-2.5.1\z2.py" -w 80 ZSESSION_TIMEOUT_MINS=180 -D %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 Works great. The entry in z2.py (ZSESSION_TIMEOUT_MINS=180) is not required. But I still have the problem of wanting Zope to run as a winnt service =\ Michael -----Original Message----- From: zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]On Behalf Of Chris McDonough Sent: Thursday, 18 July 2002 10:53 AM To: Michael Fox; Jerome Alet Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] Changing a Zope environment variable? Of Containers, Objects and Properties
by Dan Shafer 18 Jul '02

I have a folder containing multiple DTML Method objects. The folder has some properties. Each DTML method has its own set of properties that are different from those of the folder. Everything is being generated dynamically by Python scripts. When I query the folder for its propertyItems as in: print context.propertyItems called with the folder as the context, I get a list of all the properties in the folder *and* in all of its contained DTML Method objects. Not what I had in mind. Worse, when I call the same script using one of the documents in the folder as the context, I *still* get returned a list of all the properties in the folder and all of its contained DTML methods. Is there some inheritance or traversal going on here? Is this expected behavior? If not, does this behavior indicate I've assigned properties incorrectly or some such thing? ZPT DTML-tree?
by Reinoud van Leeuwen 18 Jul '02

Hi, having used DTML-tree in the past, I was wondering whether there is something similar (and as easy to use) in ZPT. Preferably something that is useable without having to use frames... -- __________________________________________________ "Nothing is as subjective as reality" Reinoud van Leeuwen reinoud.v(a)n.leeuwen.net http://www.xs4all.nl/~reinoud __________________________________________________

dyndns and timeouts

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello everyone! I'm still newbie-ish, and been lurking for a while...I just got a domain name, and through hn.org, I've got it set up with a vanity account for my-name.hn.org, which points to my-name.com, since I'm on a dynamic ip through my dsl provider. The problem is that when I try to connect through www.my-name.com or my-name.com, zope times out on me, but only after I try to log in: I get to the "Welcome to Zope!" page, but when after I login, I never see the /manage page because of the timeout. This does not happen when I go to my-name.hn.org/manage or if I do localhost/manage or to the ip/manage. Another funky thing that occurs is that I can access other directory pages, such as www.my-name.com/Test but if I attach "manage" to the end of the URL, I get timed out again. :-\ Very odd. Anyone got any ideas? Russell PS. Get properties from Python code
by Jim Kutter 18 Jul '02

18 Jul '02

I have a python script that I'd like to get a property from a page template. What would the code look like to do that? I've tried context['page.html'].properties['redirect'], context['page.html'].properties.getProperty('redirect'), and can't find anything in the docs that indicate how to do something like that... Or, even better this is what I want to do -> When someone goes to a members only page, check if they're logged in, if so display the page, otherwise redirect them to the login form. After they login, I want to redirect them back to the page they originally wanted. I'm NOT using the CMF, so I have to do logins, auth, and all that jazz myself. -jim
