Hello, I have installed the lastest Zope from Zope.com, and find this Hotfix file, post dates the April 15, 2002 version of Zope, which I installed. I find I have 108 files with the same name as the Hotfix file. Problem? Where am I supposed to install the Hotfix file? over all 108 on system files of the same name? those 108 files are not the same size. Please advise. Thank you. Richard Moore. Some questions regarding Zope hosting

Hi! We are going to host some Zope sites in the near future and therefore some questions came up: 1. When someone needs a whole Zope instance we don't like to give him a dedicated server. How usefull is it to run more than one individual Zope instances on one Server? Is there a better solution for more than one Zope instance? How helpful is ZEO in this case? 2. Which configuration is the "best": Zope + Apache, Zope's Webserver Medusa alone, any other configuration like Zope + Squid (as reverse proxy)? Which configuration fits which requirements? 3. When more than one user participates in one Zope instance, what is the preferable method to get (for the user) distinct Zope views for each user. Thanx for your answers, Juergen

Hi all. I arrived at the same solution (i think) in a different way. Using the Zope Windows Controller, you can redefine the path to your python. My assumption is this is all that needs changing. Is this assumption correct? I also changed it in the "start.bat" The reason for changing the python path was to get perl working under Zope. Now, on changing the path to python, configuring pyperl to python, and installing the zoperl product, the perl scripts appear (as a product), but i get errors when trying to run even a very simple perl script. Or is perl on Zope just unstable currently? Is Perl on Zope even worth pursuing? Apache 2 and Zope

As time goes by, I'll keep asking this question... Has anyone had success configuring Zope virtual hosting with Apache 2? I'm especially interested in hearing about Apache 2 mod_rewrite and mod_proxy problems or differences. ZServer uncaptured python exception ...

Hi to all, I have the following error causing shutdown of the zope server. the system is SunOS SERVER 5.8 Generic_108528-12 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-2. With ZOpe installed from Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc.tar file . To debug the problem, for a period, i started the server with this parameters: /usr/local/zope/start -u nobody -w 81 -M /usr/local/zope/DETAILED_LOG.txt STUPID_LOG_FILE="/usr/local/zope/STUPID_LOG.txt" & And for all this time the server has never died. Yesterday, believing it was a temporarly failure, i set the strat at the default: /usr/local/zope/start -u nobody -w 81 & But after i made this the server restart to die. SOme one have ideas? Thank you in advice.
