DTML namespace lookups
by Matt Gregory 10 Apr '02

In the following namespace: psn |_images |_portals |_PatientPortal |_portlets |_portlet_template |_leftnav |_images |_Ahmonson I have a dtml method in "leftnav" called "patientleftnav" which looks like: <dtml-var portal_framework_footer> <dtml-if groupname> <dtml-let imageDirectory="images[groupname]" dotpic="psn['portals']['dot_img']"> <dtml-var patientleftnav_content> </dtml-let> <dtml-else> <dtml-let groupname="'Ahmanson'"> <dtml-let imageDirectory="images[groupname]" dotpic="psn['portals']['dot_img']"> <dtml-var patientleftnav_content> </dtml-let> </dtml-let> </dtml-if> That method works fine, unless I call it from a method in "portlets" called "portlet_template" which looks like: <dtml-var portal_framework_header> <dtml-var "leftnav['patientleftnav']()"> <dtml-with REQUEST> <dtml-if includeFile> <dtml-var "_[includeDir][includeFile]()"> <dtml-else> No include file. </dtml-if> </dtml-with> The error I get: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'images' is not defined I'm guessing that the line: <dtml-var "leftnav['patientleftnav']()"> is somehow not properly being executed in the proper namesapce, but I'm really not understanding why, or how to fix this problem.

RE: [Zope] Zope and IIS
by Igor Leturia 10 Apr '02

Hi all! There's been a lot of answers to my question. Thanks to all! But there's been a lot of discussion about what I really needed, and I couldn't answer because I wasn't at work at the time. I'll try to answer to all the proposals and questions that have arised after my post: Max M wrote: >The bets cure for your blues is "Apache" It is much better at >integrating webservers from all over the place than IIS. >You need to install Apcahe on port 80, Zope on port 8080 and move IIS to >port 81 Thanks for the indication, it will be one of the things I'll try. Matt Gregory wrote: >Just change the Zope start script or start.bat and add -w 80 and >zope will run on port 80 instead of 8080. As Max M and Dirk Datzert later pointed out, I need IIS on port 80 for webmail services. Derek Simkowiak wrote: >Eh? Does IIS handle SMTP traffic? That's news to me. No, I've got Microsoft Exchange 2000 installed, and this has got a webmail server that uses IIS on port 80. Andy McKay wrote: >Those choices mentioned are your methods at present. There is rumour of an >ISAPI filter in progress that will solve this. If you are an ISAPI expert we >would love some help on the project. Otherwise you'll have to wait... Sorry, I'm far from being an ISAPI expert... Tom P wrote: >You can easily configure IIS to redirect to any particular page on Zope. >For example, I have a Zope folder called "gcm", and Zope is on port 8080. Now http://localhost:11111/gcm (the >IIS virtual directory) gets transferred over to http://localhost:8080/gcm/ >(my Zope installation). Thanks, this will be another one of the things to try. Max M wrote: >That is only if you have configured Zope wrong. You need the >VirtualHostMonster. Thanks, I will try this combined with Tom P's proposal. Dirk Datzert wrote: >Or does he need IIS port 25 for SMTP and doesn't know how to tell IIS not to >start start IIS on port 80 ? Yes, I know how to change the IIS port to one different from 80, but I prefer not to (as I said, we use IIS and Exchange for webmail, and the addresses would have :81 or something like that), unless we install Apache as frontend and make the :81 and :8080 transparent. Well, thanks to all again. Maybe I'll have some more questions when I start trying the proposals. ;-) Igor Leturia

How to edit manage_page_footer?
by Joshua Newman 10 Apr '02

10 Apr '02

How can I put a button or a link that allows a newbie manager to return to the site from the management interface? I tried adding my own 'manage_page_footer' to the subdirectory, but zope won't let me do that. Any ideas? Joshua

RE: [Zope] LocalFS broken?

One of our guys modified its python code to change the regular expressions. regex is not supported in Python 2 and so had to be converted by hand. When that was done, its been working like a champ. -----Original Message----- From: Christof Lindenbeck [mailto:linde@webgis.de] Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 10:39 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] LocalFS broken? dtml-in SQL, results display
by Alexander Batzios 10 Apr '02

10 Apr '02

Hi. Thanks for the pointers in my previous question. After I knew what to search for, I looked up several Zope docs and did what I wanted. However, I would like to ask some more questions: I have the following statement: <dtml-in searchField> OR FirstNameMI like <dtml-sqlvar sequence-item type="string"> OR LastName like <dtml-sqlvar sequence-item type="string"> </dtml-in> Where searchField is returned as searchField:tokens. So far so good. I want to put % in front, and after every keyword. So I try something like: FirstNameMI like <dtml-sqlvar expr='%'+sequence-item+'%' type="string"> However, because now I use an assignment operator for an expression, Zope takes sequence-item as two separate things, sequence minus item. Is there a way to work around this? I tried everything I could think of, but still the same. I would like to avoid having to use a simple dtml-var because I read in the docs that it's better for security this way (e.g. someone can't write DELETE * FROM tableName in the query). My final question, is regarding the previous, next results navigation options. (e.g. Previous 5 results, or Next 5 results). How can I have these two side by side? It seems that if I take the previous results link from the top and put it at the bottom, it doesn't appear, because there are some <dtml-if> statements before. Thanks in advance, Alex

Zope and IIS
by Igor Leturia 10 Apr '02

10 Apr '02

Hi all! I've got Zope installed on a Win2K Server. In that same server I've got IIS installed, which I can't uninstall because I need it for mail and other services, and IIS takes port 80. So now when I want to enter into Zope I have to write 'localhost:8080', and if I just write 'localhost' I get into IIS. I need an easy redirection of some kind that will allow me to get into IIS with 'localhost' and into Zope with 'localhost/zope' or 'zope.localhost', without the ':8080'. I've searched in zope.org, and I've tried two approaches: - http://www.zope.org/Members/brianh/iis_howto : I couldn't get it to work, and besides I've read that using pcgi makes the system unstable. - http://www.zope.org/Members/andym/ASP404 : I couldn't get it to work, and besides the author says it doesn't work in all situations. I'm quite desperate, I need this urgently! It's not just that the ':8080' makes the adress ugly, it's also that the website cannot be accessed from many companies where they've got a firewall that blocks access to the outside from any port different to 80. I've also heard something about 'rewrite rules', 'virtual host monsters', 'redirections', but I know nothing about them. So, can anyone help me do this easily? Thanks in advance, Igor Leturia
