How elaborate of a product do you want? I would suggest immediately looking at the CMF (http://cmf.zope.org) as a starting point...speaking as an implementer for content-management at a large newspaper web site, I would hardly think (from my perspective) that a turnkey product exists for this problem domain. The CMF is as close as you will get, since it has built-in support for managing simple news items and other content with metadata that guides how/when/where it appears on the site... Netscape/RTF problem

I am currently experiencing problems using Zope to publish RTF files in a mixed browser environment (Netscape and IE). Netscape uploads RTF files with a mime type of "application/rtf", Internet Explorer uploads RTF files with a mime type of "text/richtext". The Netscape browser does not appear to handle RTF files uploaded using Internet Explorer correctly - the raw RTF data is displayed in the browser window. Netscape does correctly handle RTF documents with mime type=application/rtf, however. Internet Explorer works correctly with both mime types. Has anybody else come across this problem?

User Password Encryption

I'm wondering if anyone's had trouble encrypting their standard user folder passwords? I did it on my test machine; after the passwords were encrypted I couldn't get into Zope via any methods (Web, FTP, WebDAV). - all the user passwords appear to have been reset... Zope 2.5.0, Python 2.1.2 FreeBSD 4.3 -Hoyin

result pages question

Hello. I'm developing a search engine with Zope. It queries a database based on a search form and displays the results (records). I have it working and all but I would like to split the results into pages of say 10 results per page. Is this possible through Zope? I haven't found anything in the docs. But then again, I am new to Zope so maybe I didn't look in the right place. So that's my question basically. If such a thing is possible with Zope and if yes, how. Thank you, Alex

hello I want to transfer static website into zope I am trying this with load_site.py, after running the command statement >>> python ./load_site.py -u manish/manish -D http://localhost:8080/test *.html *.htm i am getting the error File"<stdin>", line 1 syntax error i kept load_site.py in bin dir of zope i.e. the same directory in which python.exe is present first i double click the python.exe and then wrote the above commpand , is any wrong steps i m doing, kindly inform me please tell me the procedure and ofcourse if any small ex thanx in advance manish --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Size of a variable passed by REQUEST?

Hi, does someone know, if there's a limit, how large a variable, that should be set into the REQUEST, can be? May a variable have the size of 100 or 400 characters or unlimited? What happens, if the variable is too large? Will the rest get cut off? TIA Marc
