Can't get this SQL-based login to work...
by Robin Smidsrød 05 Feb '02

I've tried to use the guide on http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/zope-List/445507 to make an SQL-capable acl_users using LoginManager. Everything looks ok, but when I try to log in as a user in the database, I get the following error: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: _v_parent Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/lib/python2.1/site-packages/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 162, in publish File /usr/lib/python2.1/site-packages/ZPublisher/BaseRequest.py, line 450, in traverse File /var/zope/Products/LoginManager/LoginManager.py, line 237, in validate (Object: acl_users) File /var/zope/Products/LoginManager/LoginMethods.py, line 147, in findLogin (Object: Basic Auth Login) File /var/zope/Products/LoginManager/LoginManager.py, line 194, in getItem (Object: acl_users) File /var/zope/Products/ZPatterns/Rack.py, line 59, in getItem (Object: UserSource) File /var/zope/Products/LoginManager/UserSources.py, line 517, in retrieveItem (Object: UserSource) File /var/zope/Products/ZPatterns/Rack.py, line 235, in _RawItem (Object: UserSource) File /usr/share/zope/lib/python/OFS/CopySupport.py, line 480, in _setId (Object: ) File /var/zope/Products/ZPatterns/DataSkins.py, line 254, in __set_attr__ (Object: ) File /var/zope/Products/ZPatterns/DataSkins.py, line 240, in _canonicalForm (Object: ) KeyError: _v_parent Using: LoginManager-0-8-8b1 ZPatterns-0-4-3p2 Zope Version (Zope 2.4.3 (source release, python 2.1, linux2), python 2.1.1, linux2) Python Version 2.1.1 (#1, Aug 13 2001, 19:37:40) [GCC 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-96)] I've been trying to find good documentation about this for several days now. A HOWTO would be greatly appreciated!!! -- Robin

Deleting an object from ZCatalog search results
by Nuno Maltez 05 Feb '02

05 Feb '02

Hi, What do you consider to be the easiest way to delete an object "returned" in a ZCatalog search. I can get the object by using getObject on the data_record_id_, but how can I delete it? Do I need to do some sort of traversal to the folder that contains the object? Is there a method for an object to delete itself? Something like <dtml-call "object.self_destruct()"> Thanks in advance, Nuno

Structured Text (Again)

I'm sorry to be so dense about this, but I seem to be missing something fundamental. I see where you are going with that, but I'm still hitting a brick wall on one piece. Assume the following code is building my dynamic menu of documents: <ul> <dtml-in expr="objectValues('DTML Document')"> <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title_or_id></a></li><br> </dtml-in> </ul> how does the href get coded to utilize showdoc? I thought I had it, but any version I've tried abends on me. Thanks for your patience.

I may have a need for one to connect into Microsoft's Active Directory to get to some data stored therein. -----Original Message----- From: olpa(a)sybcom.de [mailto:olpa@sybcom.de] Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2002 9:00 AM To: Jens Vagelpohl Cc: olpa(a)sybcom.de; zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] Is there dev for ZopeLDAP ? Structured Text
by Learned 05 Feb '02

I understand and have played with that aspect of presenting structured text. Where I am getting hung up is how to build a dynamic list of structured text documents and present them so they show up formatted. For example: FolderA: Document1 Document2 Document3 Document4 Assume all documents in FolderA are structured text documents. How can I build a list of all those documents on the fly in such a way that when the user selects one, he will get the display formatted. I understand how to display Structured Text, and I understand how to build a list of links, but I don't see how to tie the two together. > To display a DTML Document as structured text you must use > the following: > <dtml-var yourStxDocument format="structured-text"> > - aj

RE: [Zope] Anyone using NFGnav?

You can get my popoto product which is using NFGnav for dynamics menus. Just import the popoto.zexp and have a look at the modified methods i've done within the Popoto main ZClass to see what i'm using (no need to install the other products if it's only for lurking the code). http://www.zope.org/Members/dgeorgieff/popoto -- Didier Georgieff Chef de projet technique SIT du Bas-Rhin tél : 03.88.76.78.35 - fax : 03.88.76.78.34 email : didier.georgieff(a)agriculture.gouv.fr

Filesystem Directory View - limited choices
by Adam Fields 05 Feb '02

05 Feb '02

I'm trying to add a filesystem directory view object to the root folder. My only choices for "directory" are all subdirs of "Products". The directory I want to use exists under the Zope install directory (alongside Products). Choosing one of the choices and changing it later in the properties section of the filesystem object results in no objects found in the folder. Am I doing something wrong? - Adam ----- Surgam, Inc. is a technology consulting firm with strong background in delivering scalable and robust enterprise web and IT applications. http://www.surgam.net

Format Structured Text
by Learned 05 Feb '02

05 Feb '02

I'm new to Zope, and trying to work thru some of the examples while also applying them to real world type scenarios. One of the examples in the Zope book builds a navigation method, as follows: <ul> <dtml-in expr="objectValues('DTML Document')"> <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title_or_id></a></li><br> </dtml-in> </ul> If each of the documents that this returns is a structured text document, how could I have the output formatted properly when the user selects a link?
