Debugging with Komodo on a win98 box

Dear List, I try to setup Zope for the remote debugging with Komodo on a Win98-box. But I cannot manage to set the environment variables that zope and komodo can interact. Zope and komodo are running on the same win98 -box. my Zope-root: J:zope\zopesite my Komodo-root: J:komodo1.1 my hostname: PC-A my zopeport: 8080 I tried PYTHONPATH="J:\komodo1.1\callcomodo or PYTHONPATH="J:\zope\zopesite\lib\python;J:\komodo1.1\callcomodo Still zope doesn´t find callcomodo.py. After copying the callcomodo files to J:\zope\zopesite\lib\python this worked but I got another error: Calling connect (192.168.10.1, 1053, some CookieID=) Connection problem. So how do I setup the right port? newbie -- DTML arguments

This seems really basic, but can DTML Methods accept arguments? (It seems to me that they can't). And if not, is there a "best practice" way for getting an "argument" into the file? It would quite often seem to be useful to pass a variable into a DTML document to control its behavior. Converting the whole thing to Python solely for this purpose seems wasteful, wrappers in Python seem clumsy, etc. I'm wondering if there's a smart way to do it. Thanks! How to use "and" operator in dtml-if

Hi All, Can anyone show me how to use the operator "and" in the tag <dtml-if> This is how i've used it but it doesn't worked for me. Zope does not give me any error when i tried to execute this code and it also does not execute the intended script. <dtml-if "level_in=='Development' and AUTHENTICATE_USER.has_role('Development')"> Then execute script <dtml-else> Permission Denied! </dtml-if> Thanks for any suggestion, -- Mike Tran Shufflemaster Gaming Inc.

You are using the wrong quote characters. In Oracle, double quotes are used to define a case sensitive column name, so it is looking for a column called 08/08/1997 not the string. Use single quotes and it will work. However there are numerous other problems with your SQL. Hi! Zope suddenly dies with dumping core.. It seems that problem in Garbage Collecting.. Is there any way to understand that is it my fault or python bug? Python 2.1.2 and Zope-2.5.0 with hard use of External Methods and CoreSession Best regards, Andrew P.S. Core file in attachment

*Help* Multiple Session datamanagers = problems?

I'm running a Zope 2.3.3 site where I have created an object that generates a web interface towards a SQL server database. It wraps, amongst other things, a Session Data Manager. These holds user information if you are "logged in" into the system (not logged in into zope, that is, but into my system). I needed to have two of these objects in the database, but this seemed to cause an interesting problem: It seem like the two session data managers invalidates each other. I.e, when somebocy logged in using session data manager A, suddenly persons using session datamanager B was logged out. It got better when I moved the session data manager out of my application objects, and instead only have one, further up in the hierarchy. Unfortunately, other parts of the site also use a session data manager, but with another name, which I suspect is the reason that I still get logged out sometimes. So I wonder: is this the case? Is it in Zope 2.3.3 possible only to have one session data manager, even though I'm supposed to be able to have any number according to some article I read. Or must each session data manager be accompanied by a session id manager? Right now I only have one, in the root. *Help!* /Lennart

OFS object attributes from a SQL DB? (ZPatterns)

Hi all, I'm trying to create a Folder-ish ZClass that has certain attributes which are actually linked to data that lives in a SQL database. I know I could just use methods to access the data, but I'm trying to gain some ZPatterns foo, and it seems to me that I should be able to get this data to be exposed exactly as though it were just a regular attribute on a PropertySheet. I'm having a hard time finding the magic combination, though... As I understand ZPatterns, these folder objects should be DataSkins, with DataManagers that would fetch and store the data where appropriate. However, if I try to create a ZClass with both OFS:Folder and ZPatterns:DataSkin as base classes, whenever I try to add it somewhere I get a Key Error for "_v_dm_". Can anyone help me discover the "right" way to use ZPatterns to make a persistent Object File System type of object transparently mingle attributes from PropertySheets, SQL Methods, etc.? I know that I'm close... I just can't quite wrap my head around it... Thanks, -r
