Hi What changes did you make or where did you get them from? I'm a Zope user and don't know the internals. So I'd be very grateful for some help. If you could ellaborate on those 2-3 lines you apparently changed... I'll check on my situation with -D and try your startup option! I'll post my results. -- And for those following the "threading and prformance" track. I've tried if ProxyPass or Rewrite make any difference in threading behaviour - they dont! extract values from zope
by Mike Bunyan 04 Feb '02

04 Feb '02

After many months of accumulating information from users filling in forms my intranet zope server has accumulated a large amount of useful information I would like to extract into sqlserver for analysis and use elsewhere. Some pointers as to how to extract the values into a useful format for import into a database would be appreciated. Mike B

ZMySQLDA-2.0.9b1 released
by Andy Dustman 04 Feb '02

04 Feb '02

Find it here: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=72899 http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=22307&release_id=72899 Downloads on SourceForge tend to take an hour or two to show up. If you think you've been having MySQL-related problems, then give it a try. Also give MySQLdb-0.9.2a2 a try, though there are no critical fixes in there for Zope users. Especially try Python-2.1.2 if you have been using an earlier 2.1 version. -- Andy Dustman PGP: 0x930B8AB6 @ .net http://dustman.net/andy You can have my keys when you pry them from my dead, cold neurons.

I'm tryng to use Webfolder with Casey Duncan Document Library with my Zope 2.5 on Win2Kpro, this is my experience, but my Zope lebvel is near to zero. I can create a webfolder to http://myZope:xxxx/DL/Documents where xxxx is my zope webdav port and DL my Doc Library instance. I also can modify a document but only one time, at the second modification I obtain a "read-only document" message. Ciao, Michele

AW: [Zope] Re : Zope on solaris for the beginner.

Hi Oleg Thanx for the information. Your system doesn't seems quite Solaris-normal. Have you tried any of the problems from the "threading and performance" thread? I'll give you the code: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-var ZopeTime> <br> <dtml-in "_.range(80)"><dtml-in "_.range(499)">X</dtml-in><br></dtml-in> <br> <dtml-var ZopeTime> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> But beware that can take a while and should plugup your Solaris!!!! So don't try it on a production machiene!!! While this code gets executed try getting a response from your management interface (or anything else on the site). The usual Solaris response is, that the second request will wait till the first is finished before getting executed (although processor usage is at about 30%). Do you use Apache as frontend? Thanx for the help. Oliver Erlewein

Re: Debian

I noticed that you are using Debian with Zope in the mailing list. What Zope you are using ? 2.5.0 source or binary? Because I have difficulty to run w_pcgi.py after I unpack the source tarball? Is any package I miss to install? I have already install task-python and task-python-dev. And I am running Debian 2.2r5. _________________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Sounds like you want a mail server ;-) This actually sounds like a job for MS Exchange or Lotus Notes rather than Zope. > If users start sharing the files then we may allow each user to store 20Mb of files. > 500 * 20 mb =10 Gb > I do not require versioning for the file sharing part... *shrugs* That's big for a Data.fs, but not that big. Personally, I'd use LocalFS or DocumentLibrary to store the stuff on the FS. cheers, Chris
