Trying to get Form/Checkbox value into Python Script

I've found the problem with getting data into a python script. It is with the checkboxes. If the checkbox is checked, the parameter is passed and the boolean property is set properly. However, if the checkbox is unchecked, I get a Zope error indicating that the parameter was NOT passed. Same form, same everything except in the test second test case the checkbox was unchecked. In essense, it only passes the checkbox value when the checkbox is checked. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? How do you pass boolean values (i.e., from checkboxes) to a python script when the box is unchecked? Thanks, Ron

Invalid connection string: when using ZODBC Connection with a MsAccess Db

Good day, For the first time I was trying to create a Db connection with ZODBC Adapter to my MSAccess Db. This was the error displayed when I clicked Add . dtml-sqlgroup where question

I'm looking for an easy way to find out, if dtml-sqlgroup where generated a where clause or not. Problem: If nothing is entered in my search form, there is no where-clause and I get all DS as result - what I'm looking for is way to add something like where 1=2 if there is no where clause generated by dtml-sqlgroup where - of course I could check each of my 64 input fields ;-) if they were all left blank but I hope there is a better way do achieve this. List handling and Python Products

Periodically I don't seem to be able to get lists out of REQUEST when in a Python Product method. I'm running 2.4.1 with python 2.1. I'm sure this worked before. REQUEST['foo'] gives me the first entry in the list, not the list. Problem with local roles

Hi, people. I've got a problem I was hoping someone would be able to help me with. I'm working on a site where people can log in using a web form, and then administer any pages they happen to have administration rights to. I want people to be able to use the login form anywhere on the site (it's in the navigation panel), but the administration links will only appear when the actual rights to administer a page are present, and the administration methods are of course restricted. Anyway, the solution I thought would be adequate would be the following: * Have a top-level UserFolder in which the content managers exist, but having only the restricted role "Guest". * Any user who's supposed to be able to administer a page will have the local role of "ContentManager" in that folder. This, however, does not work at all. No administration links appear, and attempting to access the editing methods doesn't work. And now to the weirder part. Adding a UserFolder to the folder, and adding a user with the same name and password, and the role "ContentManager" works just fine. Keeping dual user entries seems like a maintenance nightmare, though. I'm using Zope 2.3.3, with Python 2.1 on a Linux 2.4.7 (all those lovely numbers!). Am I doing something stupid, or is Zope being mean to me? /Danni

Copying files from a SiteRoot folder

SiteRoot seems to be preventing me from using ZMI to copy/cut files to other areas in Zope. Is there a solution? (OR is there a different SiteRoot-type product that allows this?) TIA, Trevor

setting cookies in a python script? (OmniWeb issue)

On our Zope site (www.su.ualberta.ca) we have a splash page that lets users choose which version of the site they want to see. That page has links to two methods, each of which set two cookies: splash --> gets set to 'yes', this prevents the user from encountering the splash page on subsequent visits. bandwidth --> gets set to either 'high' or 'low', depending on which method they click through to. The code for one of the methods, "setBandwidthHigh", (the other is almost identical): <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setCookie('bandwidth', 'high', domain='su.ualberta.ca', expires='Wed, 19 Feb 2020 14:28:00 GMT')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setCookie('splash', 'yes', domain='su.ualberta.ca', expires='Wed, 19 Feb 2020 14:28:00 GMT')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('index_html')"> The problem I have is with a browsers such as OmniWeb 4.0.5 (Mac OS X). OmniWeb adds the path of the method to the cookie, so the cookie gets listed in this form: domain: su.ualberta.ca path: /setBandwidthHigh name: bandwidth value: high Other browsers simply list the path as /, and work just fine. Omniweb doesn't work, because when index_html checks for the cookie, the cookie as listed doesn't show up because the path is too specific. Doing a <dtml-var REQUEST> shows no cookie entries under OmniWeb (unless I include the path in the URL- e.g. "www.domain/setBandwidthHigh/samplepage/". Instead, the splash page just comes back up. I'm still pretty new to Python, but I was thinking that if I put a form button on the page to select the site version, I could have a Python script execute when it clicked that set the cookie properly in OmniWeb (i.e., with a path of '/'). Can I set cookies from within a Python script? Any other suggestions to solve my problem?

The following string in a ZSQL method will not include any where clause. What is wrong? The MktSectorID field occurs in both tables so I need to specify it with the dot notation. Could that be it? If I remove the optional, I get the same result.
