problems sorting list
by Sebastian Kügler 28 Sep '01

Hi group, I am busy with a part of a cms in which several DTML documents are being displayed on the frontpage. I have the following problem with it, i could not yet figure out how to sort the items by bobobas modification time, i tried different things, none of them helped. To me it seems not a difficult problem, but anyway, i could not figure out how to do that. Can anyone help me? This peace of code is contains it: list = context.items.objectItems('DTML Document') #list.sort(list(bobobase_modification-time)) #list.sort(cmp) #list.sort(lambda a, b: cmp(a.bobobase_modification_time,b.bobobase_modification_time)) #list.sort(objectValues(),('bobobase_modification_time')) All the commented lines contains different approaches, all of them return errors. Maybe someone has a link to where i can read about these things, to figure out what goes wrong? Sebastian Kügler ________________________ Webmaster NSM

ZphotoAlbum - Anonymous permissions - Stupid Newbie Question?
by Philip Kilner 28 Sep '01

28 Sep '01

Hi All, Zope 2.3.3 I am using ZPhotoAlbum for image management. I need to let the anonymous user upload images and create new folders. The readme says "You can allow users to add pages and photos to your album without allowing them access to the management interface by granting them the "Add ZPhotoAlbums" and/or "Add ZPhotos" permissions. These do not allow the users to alter the objects, or delete them." Accordingly I have gone to the "Security" tab of the ZPhotoAlbum, and given the "anonymous" role the "Add ZPhotoAlbums permission. There is no "Add ZPhotos" permission listed. Accessing the folder anonymously, I do not see the management link (Which is present as expected when I am logged on). Am I doing/not doing something silly? All input gratefully received! Probably another (simple) acquisition question...
by Thierry FLORAC 28 Sep '01

Hi, I want to make the following folders hierarchy : index_html /Folder1 /Folder2 /news so that I can call /Folder1/news or /Folder2/news My index_html method (which is only present in my root folder) is calling a Python script (also placed in the root folder) which is using current folder properties to display a navigation bar. My problem is that this navigation bar is OK if I just call "/Folder1" or "/Folder2", but when I call "/Folder1/news", the displayed navigation bar is that of the news folder, and I would like to have that of /Folder1 also :-(( I have tried in my Python script to use "context.property1" as well as "container.property1", but without any good result... Would anybody have an idea ?? Thanks, Thierry -- Les LOGICIELS LIBRES ?? Y'a moins bien, mais c'est plus cher !! http://gpc.sourceforge.net

Structured text
by Oliver Sturm 28 Sep '01

28 Sep '01

Hi! I'm making extensive use of structured text in a web page, which users can change within the predefined layouts. Kudos to the inventor of the idea! Now I have found that there's another product (?) available by now, called something like STX documents, that seems to be in beta stadium. What's the purpose of that? Is it supposed to be the future of the standard implementation of structured text for the standard Zope distribution or rather a standalone product? Should I be using that instead of the standard structured text in Zope 2.4? My second question is about extensibility. I have found that there are things I'd like to be included in structured text. Are there ways to extend functionality without hacking source? Say I want a single line containing --- to be interpreted as <hr width="80%">, how can I extend structured text to do this? (It's not possible yet, is it?) Any feedback would be appreciated! Oliver -- Oliver Sturm / <sturm(a)oliver-sturm.de>

Authentication without management screens?
by tom smith 28 Sep '01

28 Sep '01

Hi, Is there a way to open the standard authentication dialog then redirect to a given url, so that somebody can be logged in, but not necessarily see (by default) the management screens? Kind of like this... theurl = context.REQUEST['theurl'] #passed in querystring if authenticated_user(): return RESPONSE.redirect(theurl) else: return RESPONSE.AUTHENTICATION_DIALOG Cheers tom -- tom smith | tom(a)othermedia.com | http://www.othermedia.com/blog 0207 089 5959 | Floor 3, The Pavilion, Newhams Lane, London SE1 3UZ

ZopeFind searching using ANDNOT?
by paul dunbar 28 Sep '01

I have a tree on my site that has many different meta_types.My problem is that i want all the branches to display the number of a certain meta_type that it holds. I have used the following code to try this:<dtml-var "_.len(ZopeFind(this(),meta_type==['Material'],search_sub=1))"> This works ok but the problem is that it counts all meta_types.I have no idea why this.I have also tried something like this <dtml-var "_.len(ZopeFind(this(),meta_type==['Material'] ANDNOT ['meta_type_a','meta_type_b'],search_sub=1))"> but it gives me an error. If anyone can tell me what i am doing wrong i would be grateful,or if u could suggest another way to achieve this result. paul dunbar. -- _______________________________________________ Get your free email from http://www.graffiti.net Powered by Outblaze

Calling ZSQLMethods in parents' folder from PythonScripts
by tom smith 28 Sep '01

28 Sep '01

Hello I have a folder structure like this... Folder: MyProject ZSQLMethod: create_category_sql Folder: Whatever PythonScript: create_category DTMLMethod: create_category_form The create category form is like this... <form action="create_category" method="post"> etc And the create_category PythonScript tries to do this... context.create_category_sql(context.REQUEST) ... But I get a "Not Found" error when I submit the form... I thought that using context. Would let the script use acquisition to back it's way up my folder hierarchy and use the ZSQL Method. Or have I got this wrong? Cheers Tom P.s please cc me if you reply, ta! -- tom smith | tom(a)othermedia.com | http://www.othermedia.com/blog 0207 089 5959 | Floor 3, The Pavilion, Newhams Lane, London SE1 3UZ

ZSQL from Script not working with zope 2.4.0
by belen＠netcom.no 28 Sep '01

Hello, I am having problems with this method. This is not working with Zope 2.4 but it does with Zope 2.3. The query is supposed to return the sum of some values and I have called the column 'CountOfResultNo'. I have tried with another query that returns a single value and this one is working. The only difference I can see between the two is that when I try to retrieve a sum, that is "virtual" data, in the sense that that figure is not stored in the database but the result of some calculations. On the other hand my other single result query retrieves something that is actually stored as data in the database. Can this be the problem? def getData(self, RunNumber, MDP): try: count_res=self.SQL_CountofTestResults(RunNo=RunNumber, MinDispPriority=MDP) except: return None ## Get the total number of results in this run fields2index={} fieldNames=count_res._schema.items() for i in range (len(fieldNames)): fields2index[fieldNames[i][0]]=fieldNames[i][1] countOfTestResults=count_res[i][fields2index['CountOfResultNo']] return countOfTestResults And this is the error message I get: Error Type: IndexError Error Value: array index out of range Traceback (innermost last): File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 223, in publish_module File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 187, in publish File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\Zope\__init__.py, line 226, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: LockableItem) File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 171, in publish File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\ZPublisher\mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: DataforFie) File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 112, in call_object (Object: DataforFie) File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\OFS\DTMLMethod.py, line 194, in __call__ (Object: DataforFie) File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_String.py, line 544, in __call__ (Object: DataforFie) File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_Util.py, line 230, in eval (Object: getDataForPie(325,5)) (Info: getDataForPie) File <string>, line 2, in f File C:\Zope\BELENS~1 \lib\python\Products\ExternalMethod\ExternalMethod.py, line 281, in __call__ (Object: getDataForPie) (Info: ((325, 5), {}, None)) File C:\Zope\BelenSite\Extensions\getDataForPie.py, line 31, in getData (Object: LockableItem) File C:\Zope\BELENS~1\lib\python\Shared\DC\ZRDB\RDB.py, line 252, in __getitem__ IndexError: (see above) Can someone tell me what the problem might be?
