opening a dtml-tree to a specific node
by Mitchell L Model 22 Sep '01

Has anyone worked out how to open a dtml-tree to a specific node? I see what needs to be done but was hoping someone had already made it work. Part 1: Change tree display to a specific state. Construct a cookie representing the desired state, using either TreeTag.encode_seq or TreeTag.encode_str With my "tree" frame as a target, display the frame's usual URL, with a ?state-s argument equal to the constructed cookie. Part 2: Simulate the clicking of the desired link by displaying its URL with my "content" frame as a target. In my case, I actually don't want to specify the entire state of the tree, just make sure that a desired node is visible, so I may have to use a variation that uses ?state-e instead of ?state-s. -- --- Mitchell

highlighting selected node of a dtml-tree
by Mitchell L Model 22 Sep '01

Has anyone worked out a way to highlight the selected node of a dtml-tree? Since trees are used as navigation mechanisms, it seems appropriate that clicking an item should highlight it (change it's background, make it bold -- whatever) and dehighlight the previous "selection". I've done this with JavaScript (and seen various JavaScript tree widgets that do this), but since dtml-tree doesn't use JavaScript, it might have to regenerate the whole tree display on each click and generate something different for the node just clicked. This gets tricky, since the usual behavior for clicking is to affect the display in another frame, not do something to the tree itself. Another possibility would be to add onclick JavaScript to each node's <a> tag that does something to highlight that node; presumably this would require adding a unique HTML name/id to each node's <a> or <td> tag so the JavaScript could refer to it. Etc.

I just posted a patch for this very problem to zope-dev on Friday. >>> Milos Prudek wrote > ZMI find fails to locate text in ZClasses. > > The following dialog fails when invoked from root folder (or Products > folder, or given ZClass folder), even though "my_method" is there. > > Find objects of type: All types > Containing: my_method > > ZMI find works ok everywhere else, except for ZClasses. > > Tested on Zope 2.4.1. > > -- > Milos Prudek > > > _______________________________________________ > Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope > ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** > (Related lists - > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev ) > -- Anthony Baxter <anthony(a)interlink.com.au> It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

External Method: Render STX with images
by Danny William Adair 22 Sep '01

22 Sep '01

Hi! I'm putting this on the list because I've seen a couple of posts of other people who wanted to have images in their stx documents. I've just uploaded a python solution you can use as a simple way to provide this feature: http://www.zope.org/Members/Barabbas/stx_to_html You will only have to change your <dtml-var my_stx_input fmt=structured-text> to <dtml-var "stx_to_html(my_stx_input)"> to use the extended rendering with images. Hope this is handy for some people, Danny P.S.: Thanks for helping me getting this done, Tres.

Zope (external) methods to access a local news server?
by Adam Warner 22 Sep '01

22 Sep '01

Hi all, I wonder if anyone knows of work/code to display posts from a local news server (inn2) within a web browser using Zope (Python external methods)? I thought it would be good to check before I possibly (and very slowly) reinvented the wheel. If anyone has good ideas how to achieve this I'd appreciate it. I thought I'd look for a command-line newsreader that I can get to, say, pipe the latest 10 posts to a text file (I'm only familar with GUI clients like Pan). I would then upload the data to the zope server which would format it for display. I did find this proposal: http://dev.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/NNTPServer Many thanks, Adam

Login user programatically from the values of REQUEST['HTTP_COOKIE']
by Gitte Wange 21 Sep '01

21 Sep '01

Hello, Sorry for all my questions right now but it isn't that easy to make a payment gateway written in PHP to talk to Zope ... I was wondering if it was possible to login a user programatically with the data from HTTP_COOKIE. It contains all the data required (__ac_user, __ac) but the __ac is encoded. Anyone who have done this before ?? TIA, Gitte

I defined an external method "build_adn" which I can call from a DTML-document. How do I call it from a Python script? I tried e.g. "return build_adn (zone)", but it did not work. Peter

Request-variable containing some user information
by Gitte Wange 21 Sep '01

21 Sep '01

Hello, I am trying to create a shop product to use with our payment gateway. The gateway works in a very secure way and it's not easy to find out how it works. I have some problems with the things that should happen after a users credit card has been accepted by the gateway. You set an ok and a failure url in the gateway setup. If the card is accepted, the gateway returns the page on the ok url. But it is the gateway that returns the url and therefor Zope think it's an anonymous user that is logged in. Now is there some variable from the REQUEST object I can pass to the gateway in order to make Zope know that there is a user logged in ? I have tried with HTTP_COOKIE but it didn't seem to work. One other thing is that the form tag can only look like this: <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="sessionid" VALUE="<dtml-var "REQUEST['HTTP_COOKIE']">"> the sessionid variable is the only one the gateway doesn't strip :(( TIA, Gitte Wange
