I'm not sure what the right answer is, but I've also been bitten by this - and it's a bitch to fix when it hits you. You end up with magic mystery invisible properties - always a fun game to debug. >>> "Jean Jordaan" wrote > Hi Paul > > Thanks for the answer. Trouble with ZSQL method
by Devin L. Ganger 06 Sep '01

Hello, all. Apologies in advance for the long lines in the error message. I'm running Solaris 7, Zope 2.3.3, MySQL 3.23.28-gamma, ZMySQLDA 2.0.7, and MySQLdb 0.9.0. I'm trying to get the following ZSQL method name sql_select_single to work: select servicedesc, serviceid as parentid from z_service where <dtml-sqltest servicename op=eq type=string> Yes, servicename is defined as a parameter. When I test it manually, it's great. When I try to test it with the following bit of DTML: <dtml-let servicename="'CIP'"> <p class="bodynorm"> <dtml-var servicename> </p> <dtml-var expr="sql.test_select_single()"> </dtml-let> I get the following wonderful error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Hello Andy, make an external python script and use this one-> def Walk( root, recurse=0, pattern='*', return_folders=0 ): import fnmatch, os, string # initialize result = [] # must have at least root folder try: names = os.listdir(root) except os.error: return result # expand pattern pattern = pattern or '*' pat_list = string.splitfields( pattern , ';' ) # check each file for name in names: fullname = os.path.normpath(os.path.join(root, name)) # grab if it matches our pattern and entry type for pat in pat_list: if fnmatch.fnmatch(name, pat): if os.path.isfile(fullname) or (return_folders and os.path.isdir(fullname)): result.append(fullname) continue # recursively scan other folders, appending results if recurse: if os.path.isdir(fullname) and not os.path.islink(fullname): result = result + Walk( fullname, recurse, pattern, return_folders ) return result if __name__ == '__main__': # test code print '\nExample 1:' files = Walk('.', 1, '*', 1) print 'There are %s files below current location:' % len(files) for file in files: print file print '\nExample 2:' files = Walk('.', 1, '*.py;*.html') print 'There are %s files below current location:' % len(files) for file in files: print file You have to adjust it to your needs! problem with ZClass
by Zanotti Michele 06 Sep '01

06 Sep '01

Hi all, I have a simple zclass with a propertysheet and three Base Classes: ZObject, CatalogAwareBase, _ZClass_for_MSWordDocument. I have modified the add_Form for the input of my properties and I have set up the Properties view to propertySheets/myZclass/manage. When I add a new zclass object all works but when I select it, go to the right-hand frame of the management interface and click on a tab (the view tab, the properties tab...) the browser (Ie 5.00.29) open a new window. Someone can explain me why ? I use Zope 2.3.3 and Win2k. Excused my bad english and thanks. Michele

Inserting variables into expressions
by Roger Sillito 06 Sep '01

06 Sep '01

I want to insert an image tag into a page from a given folder: <dtml-var "aFolder.anImage.tag(border=0, align='right')"> Rather than this inserting 'anImage' I would like to be able to insert a variable name in the place of 'anImage' so it will instead place an image defined by the request. I've tried a number of variants on the following syntax with no success: <dtml-var "aFolder._.getitem('aVariable').tag(border=0, align='right')"> Can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks, Roger. _____________________ Roger Sillito Web Assistant Publications & Website Development Office 6 Kensington Terrace University of Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7RU Tel: 0191 222 3482 http://naoyam.ncl.ac.uk/ e-mail: w.r.sillito(a)ncl.ac.uk

Not persistent on all classes please
by Peter Bengtsson 06 Sep '01

06 Sep '01

I have a class in a product, which inherits from another product which in turn inherits from another product class. Consequently, I have inherited from the persistance class which makes object stick in the ZODB after you close it down. Now that's nice and all and there's not much I can do about it. But suppose that in this particular subclass I do NOT want the persistance base class. I don't want these objects to stick in the ZODB. Is that possible to cicumvent? I would like to do something like this: class Subsubsubclass(basecomponent, - persistance) Peter PS. All I know about persistance is that if you base class it, you automatically get persistent objects. How it happens, I don't know.

hey guys I created a ZSQL Method "SELECT * FROM users" which returns 10 rows now in a python script: type = context.type sql = context.mySqlMethod() return type(sql) this returns: <type 'instance'> while I expected <type 'list'> the problem is, I wanted to do something like return sql[2:4] but I get an error: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: sequence index must be integer Traceback (innermost last): File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 223, in publish_module File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 187, in publish File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\Zope\__init__.py, line 226, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: LockableItem) File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 171, in publish File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\ZPublisher\mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: foo) File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 112, in call_object (Object: foo) File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\Shared\DC\Scripts\Bindings.py, line 324, in __call__ (Object: foo) File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\Shared\DC\Scripts\Bindings.py, line 354, in _bindAndExec (Object: foo) File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\Products\PythonScripts\PythonScript.py, line 363, in _exec (Object: foo) (Info: ({'script': <PythonScript instance at 0176FB70>, 'context': <Folder instance at 01852A30>, 'container': <Folder instance at 01852A30>, 'traverse_subpath': []}, (), {}, None)) File Script (Python), line 3, in foo (Object: guarded_getitem) File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\AccessControl\ZopeGuards.py, line 148, in guarded_getitem File C:\ZOPE\lib\python\Shared\DC\ZRDB\RDB.py, line 252, in __getitem__ TypeError: (see above) Shouldn't ZSQL methods return a list of dictionaries or anything similar to it ?? any suggestions ? Re: [Zope] file upload from python script
by Horst Wald 06 Sep '01

06 Sep '01

>When I try manage_addFile or manage_upload, the content of the new > > is >the path of the file I wanted to upload and not the file itself. >>This means, you should pass the FileUpload object and >>not the filename :-) The problem is: "I'm trying to do a file upload from inside a python script that takes the file's PATH and the target folder object as args." OK, but I wouldn't have to write a python script if I already had the FileUpload object corresponding to the file I want to upload - I could use manage_addFile or manage_upload then. I know how to get a FileUpload object using a <input type="file">-tag in a dtml-Document. But I want to do the upload automatically: I have a python script A with a list of (PathOfFileToUpload,TargetFolderObject)-pairs which is to call a python script B for each item in the list, handing over to it the path of the chosen file and the target folder B is supposed to upload the file into? I then have to convert the file's path into a FileUpload object first and then use manage_upload with it, like def B(TargetFolderObject,PathOfFileToUpload): TargetFolderObject.manage_upload(FileUploadObject(PathOfFileToUpload)) So my remaining question is: how do I create a FileUpload object from the chosen file's path? Thanks nevertheless Horst _________________________________________________________________ Downloaden Sie MSN Explorer kostenlos unter http://explorer.msn.de/intl.asp
