Since an object's attribute only springs into existence when they are actually assigned to (section 9.3.3 of the Python tutorial), the average object might not need get quite so large. Roger

What happens top me is that <dtml-var my_field> is rendered as None when the empty string is encountered. Maybe the None answer is default I don't know. However I want it to be rendered as 0 and the NVL returns 0.0 and and I can't emliminate the trailing .0 -- Stig-Arne Nordin

RE: [Zope] Zope install on Redhat
by Joshua Penix 05 Sep '01

How did you install the Python 2.1? Did it come from RPM? If not, that's okay - you can force the Zope RPM to ignore its perceived need for the python2 RPM: rpm -ivh --nodeps zope.i386.rpm (forgot exact RPM name) Alternately, you can get the python2 RPM from python.org and install it - then the Zope RPM should be happy. Hope that helps! --josh > -----Original Message----- > From: Jerry Lake [mailto:jerryl@europa.com] > Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2001 2:23 PM > To: zope(a)zope.org > Subject: [Zope] Zope install on Redhat > > > I'm trying to install Zope on my Redhat machine > right now from an RPM linked from the Zope site. > It is claiming that I need python. ZBabel 2.4.1-compatible release
by Joachim Werner 05 Sep '01

The CVS version of ZBabel, the internationalization tool for Zope, is now working with Zope 2.4.1 (supposedly also 2.4.0). Until there is a tarball release later this week, you can download the updated file from here: http://imail.iuveno-net.de/CVS/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/ZBabel/ZBabelTagsUtil.p y?rev=1.3&content-type=text/plain Regards Joachim

Re: [Zope] Zope management screens and OmniWeb (on OS X)
by Dominique.Dutoit＠cec.eu.int 05 Sep '01

Same problem here. But I think that the problem is elsewhere because I don't have any problem to manage my personal folder on zope.org with OmniWeb. Maybe the problem is authenticating an user when there is a port number in the URL. Or the way zope.org does the authentication is more friendly that the authentication window. I have tried to run zope on a port 80 but Python refused to bind the port and I'm sure that Apache is not running. It seems that Mac OS X protects some resources. By the way, iCab has exactly the same problem and yet, it works with the personal folder. Dominique

sub-objects Re: [Zope] ZClass derived from Folder, quick question

It allows you to specify what types can be added to your folder. Maybe if you have no sub-objects selected thoses functions will not be available. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Subtracting 2 datetime objects
by Gitte Wange 04 Sep '01

04 Sep '01

Hello, I need to figure out a start time for an object from two other start times. I have made myself a little Python Script inside Zope to test this (because I don't know exactly how this works). So I created myself two variables: d1 = DateTime('14:55').timeTime() d2 = DateTime('15:00').timeTime() time = d2 - d1 return DateTime(time).Time() This gives me an output of 01:05:00 when I expected 00:05:00. what is it I don't get ?? TIA, Gitte Wange
