Zope questions

Hi! I'm currently looking at the possibility of using zope for our new intranet. However, I unsurprisingly have a few questions with regards to its capabilities. Zope seems great as far as creating original content, and managing users. However, from what I've seen, using external tools seems trickier. For instance, we have a lot of tools which generate plain HTML pages (using everything from cron driven shell scripts to handwritten HTML). We obviously don't wish to reinvent all these tools (or give up the flexibility). How much would we lose switching to zope? Also, we are going to be switching from using Notes (hack, spit) to web based software covering everything from bugtracking (possibly Bugzilla) through calendering to project mangement. Since there doesn't seem to be a single product that does all this we are probably going to take a mix and match approach, using whatever we can find. What would be great is if all these various apps could be placed under zope's access management system. Would this be possible? Or would we have to duplicate access management for these external applications? Also, does anyone have experience of intergrating bugzilla and zope? So, that's my first salvo of questions. Any information would be much appreciated. Cheers Dave

It sounds to me like you want something like nortel has on their page at http://www.nortelnetworks.com/ with the link to the various countries. They use javascript to go to the various pages. Naive Q - 1 Apache Virtual Host serving Zope content

I've read and re-read at various places on the web site like HOW-TOs and configured and reconfigures my httpd.conf from apache but cannot seem to get this right: I have an Apache server (RH 7.1 - Apache built by hand, Zope built by hand) running lots of virtual hosts. I want one of those virtual hosts to serve Zope content from its root URL: Main Server: www.123.com -> apache content Virtserv1: www.234.com -> apache content Virtserv2: www.345.com -> zope content Now I'm using FastCGI, and I can get it working if I put my <IfModule mod_fastcgi.c> and so on in the main server conf... But what do I do if I only want to serve one virtual server from Zope? Where do I put the <If Module... stuff? Where do I put the <Location...FastCGIExternalServer directive? And are all paths relative to the document root of the server or of the virtual server? At the moment I have tried something like: <VirtualHost zope.abc.com> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/abc/zope <IfModule mod_fastcgi.c> FastCGIIpcDir /tmp (relative to Linux root, yes?) TypeError when accessing security folder on zope 2.3.3 and win nt

Hi, When I try and click on the security tab by having the root on the left and the security tab on the right I get this the following traceback. I don't have any hotfixes or patchs to the core. How to store a cookie in Zope? With RESPONSE.setCookie(name, value) I manage only to set a per-session cookie, which is not stored on a client computer. Zope reference gives such a header for this method: setCookie(name, value, **kw), but the **kw argument is not described. What it is? Artur

Get files from the disk

Hello. I have a new and big problem I'm migrating of IIS to Zope, but now in a directory of de old web I have a lot of images (over 8.000). Do you now how can I? 1- Put all this files to zope at the same time. (Not one to one) or 2- Do that Zope read directly from the hard disk. I would prefer this option. Thanks.
