ZCatalog Search Interface Broken (help?)
by Gary Perez 03 Aug '01

03 Aug '01

Hi, all. First, the versions: Linux, Zope 2.3.0, python 1.5.2 A while back, I set up a couple of Catalog-aware ZClasses that auto-update to a Catalog in Zope's root folder. In that same folder, I added the standard "Z Search Interface". Somemtime within the last couple of months, the search interface stopped working; searching on any of the indexed properties of either ZClass returns no results whatsoever. Here are the things I checked in various combinations, multiple times: - Create new ZClass(es): they still auto-update in the Catalog, search fails - Update the Catalog: looks good, search fails - Verify the Indexes of the Catalog, redo "Find Objects": works fine, search fails - Trash original "Search_Form" and "Search_Report" DTML Methods, add new from management interface: use Zope defaults, search fails During the last month or so, I removed one property from one of the ZClasses, and added a different one... neither of which were ever (nor will ever be) indexed by the Catalog or searched for via the interface. Has anyone run into a similar problem (and, hopefully found a solution)? Thanks in advance for your zen & guidance. -Gary

Temperamental Zope+Windows
by Tim Fouracre 03 Aug '01

Whenever I am using Zope (Version 2.3.3) and Windows 98 crashes/locks up (so quite freqently) and I hit ctrl-alt-del, I always have to run scandisc when the computer restarts. If i don't, Zope will not work. Normally I would just cancel the laborious scandisc process, and everything would be fine. But Zope is always adversely affected by the crash/lock up and needs sectors that contain some of its files to be repaired. I was just wondering why? as this doesn't happen with any other programs I use. RE: [Zope] CoreSessionTracking broken under 2.4.0?

We are at a point where we will be needing session capabilities. HAve been hearing about CST for a long time but never took the plunge. We are on the Windows platform. How hard is it to implement for us? Have not done much investigating but thought I would pop the question out there for opinions. Stored Procedures
by ricardo＠cnbe.mar.org.uk 03 Aug '01

Hi Zopistas, Does anyone knows how to use Z Stored Procedures. OK! We create a Z Stored Procedures. Associate it with an Oracle procedure. Test them. And Then? How do we make zope to interact with a ZSP. Zope search interface doesn't reconize them as a method. Does someone has some code that shows how to use them? Thanks, Ricardo

All, I have a version Paradox. I've searched the mailing lists and the general advice is to save or discard the version. Problem is I need the work that's gone on in there, but it's not yet ready for general consumption. Any other ideas? Phil phil.harris(a)zope.co.uk

Sanket, Please try to keep replies cc'ed to the list. Read about WebDAV as it relates to IE via the numerous websites that talk about WebDAV and IE (search Google). Then read about WebDAV in the Zope Book. There is nothing you need to download. - C sanket.deshmukh(a)medienhaus-bremen.de wrote: > > hi chris, > > thanks for responding. but i didn't get you clearly. > i dont have webdav on my system. should i download it from their > website ?? and then what ?? please let me know. > Thanks again, > Sanket. > > -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- > Von: Chris McDonough [mailto:chrism@digicool.com] > Gesendet: Friday, August 03, 2001 1:42 PM > An: sanket.deshmukh(a)medienhaus-bremen.de > Cc: zope(a)zope.org > Betreff: Re: [Zope] please help!! > > Hi Sanket, > > Look into WebDAV (ie. But you should not mix up systems with LFS (large file support) an such withpout (e.g. Linux 2.2.). The 2.2 based System will be able to read from large files, but nothing more. Perhaps you might have a look at: http://www.suse.de/~aj/linux_lfs.html for some more details (esp. in respect to the C-libs used). ta -------------------------------------------------------------------------- smartferret it-consulting Dipl.-Ing. How does Zope and Python work?
by Peter Bengtsson 03 Aug '01

03 Aug '01

Consider: <dtml-in select_zsqlmethod_sql> <dtml-var foo> </dtml-in> <dtml-in select_zsqlmethod_sql> <dtml-var bar> </dtml-in> 2 process calls to select_zsqlmethod_sql() <dtml-let sequence=select_zsqlmethod_sql> <dtml-in sequence> <dtml-var foo> </dtml-in> <dtml-in sequence> <dtml-var bar> </dtml-in> </dtml-let> 1 process call, isn't it?? Is it different for calls to other sequence returning things? like objectValues() or getResultScript() or whatever. I just want to use garbage collection instead of to many calls to other objects around. Peter
