I am having trouble connecting to #zope on irc.zope.net and irc.openprojects.net I keep getting a connection refused error. This worked fine on Friday. Anyone know whats going on? -Andy

manage_clone + proxy_roles problem

hi. i have this method "registrazione" with: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('http://host/manage_addProduct/myproduct/builder?op4mod=a&new_id=b')"> builder : <dtml-with "manage_clone(_.getattr(builder,op4mod),REQUEST['new_id'])"> all works fine, but... i need proxy_roles, anonymous user must have access to "builder". builder have proxy_roles, with manager access. if i try to get mymethod: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. I don't think compressed storage would be related to this; though I have never used it, my understaing is that it only compresses large objects; the initialization of the db may have more to do with the number of objects (including old/deleted stuff)... LocalFS customization - Upload Method

Hi everybody, I'm trying to build a big file library which can be accessible through my zope server. So I've installed LocalFS. It's very good but I'd like to customize it a little bit : I made a Zclass wich contain informations concerning one file (like title, author, subject...). I'd like to be able to upload a file in my LocalFS object (easily with a form) and then to create a Zclass instance whith the id of the file. How can I modify the upload method to be able to do that ? Thank you in advance. Zope Page Layouter available???

Hi everyone, one quick question: is there a Zope Product similar to a Website-Template configureable to the following layout: checkbox (yes/no) Title [ ] checkbox (yes/no) Description [ ] checkbox (yes/no) Picture [upload...] checkbox (yes/no) People [select box filled from a database ] checkbox (yes/no) Links [ ] `-> more... The user can interactively choose the categories he wants on the created page and fill in the boxes. That kind of product would be important for me since I'm dealing with clients who don't want to deal with HTML nor Zope DTML. If such a product is not available, can anyone at least point me to a place to start to create such a product? I was going to create a normal DTMLDocument called "Page Layouter" (including a form with the options outlined above). After the user presses submit, a python script is called that creates another DTMLDocument with the selected options. All I need would be some python code to get me started: My current problem is an Edit function for the created DTMLDocuments... or should I do something completely different? DCO2 on NT

Hi, I am trying to use DCO2-NT-Beta3 but I am having a broken package. I have unziped it in lib/python/products. I don't know how to make it. I have tryied DCO-src-beta3 to build it but I don't know how do do it. I have copied to lib/python/products end rename dco2 to ZoracleDA but I am still having a broken product. with this message Import error " No module named dco2". I am using zope 2.3.3 on wiindows 2000 runnig on a Pentium 4 server. could anyone help me regards Ricardo

RSS channel tag

Hi I would like to add RSS channels created through the syndication tool to the Intranet Portal site on CMF1.1. I have installed the ChannelTag product in the InstanceHome/Products directory to add the channel. File extension mangling & FTP/WebDAV

As many of us know, it's tricky to edit DTML/ZPT files in GoLive and Dreamweaver because both of them expect valid HTML files to have an extension (to be fair, both allow you to configure these extensions, so we could use something like '.dtml'; we just can't have it be blank.) I think that naming DTML Docs & Methods with extensions is a Bad Thing -- then, links are dependent upon the format of the file. If you switch from a dtml method to a dtml document or to a PageTemplate, you'd have to change your links. (Plus, .extensions make for slightly uglier DTML code; see my message earlier this week about graphic files w/.gif or .jpg extensions.) One possible workaround would be to patch the FTP and WebDAV upload/download so that: * for all the files in a folders, the server would add a simulated extension. For example, for dtml methods, the server would report a file called 'index_html.dtmm', or for dtml documents, 'index_html.dtmd'. * this file could easily be updated by most HTML tools. * when saving this file, the Zope server would re-mangle the filename back to the original. It's definitely a hack, but could be coded in much less time than it will take Macromedia & Adobe to fix their programs. I'd be willing to take a first cut at this, but I'm hoping someone has already done this, or has begun this work. -- Joel Burton <jburton(a)scw.org> Director of Information Systems, Support Center of Washington
