Hi Jack, I know it's sorta confusing. ZServer *is* doing pcgi. In my experience you get a little better performance using ProxyPass, but it's not a huge effect (no.. I haven't done any benchmarks.. just casual observation). The only real problem I've had with pcgi/rewrite is trying to server larger files. In these cases you may be better off server the files directly with apache, but then you lose Zope's nice security system. Of course, you can also mix Rewrite and ProxyPass if you like, Rewrite for directing stuff to apache (e.g., /static, /mailman, /cgi-bin) and ProxyPass (or [p] in rewrite I think is equivalent) for Zope. -steve On Sunday, July 29, 2001, at 10:43 PM, Jack Coates wrote: Hi all, I've always written everything in a text editor, so this whole app server thing is new to me... Bad idea (I suspect so, upgrades would get uglier than usual). How can I check in a DTML Document if a html_quot'ed variable is unequal to the unquoted var? Hi all, I've always written everything in a text editor, so this whole app server thing is new to me... I've done my homework though, and Zope looks like what I want to build some better sites. I'm having trouble with virtual hosting, though. Hi everyone, my last question regarding the MFolder product would be how to make the root folder of a Zope installation a MFolder? So far I can only add new MFolders but not change an existing (= / root) to that. It would be great if Dieter or anyone else who's using MFolder could help me on this. Python script sort by id

I have a slightly strange problem with sorting in a python script. Basically, sorting by title and meta_type both work as expected, but by id produces totally random results that I cannot fathom (I really can't see any pattern at all). Here is the code snippet ------------------------ def sort_id(ob1, ob2): return cmp(ob1.id, ob2.id) def sort_title(ob1, ob2): return cmp(ob1.title, ob2.title) def sort_meta(ob1, ob2): return cmp(ob1.meta_type, ob2.meta_type) if context.REQUEST.has_key('sort'): obVals = context.objectValues(all_types) obVals.sort(sort_id) if context.REQUEST['sort'] == 'title': obVals.sort(sort_title) elif context.REQUEST['sort'] == 'object_type': obVals.sort(sort_meta) -------------------------- I have also tried: getattr(ob1, 'id') - which gives the same wierd results ob1.id() - which gives a TypeError of 'call of non-function (type string)' I copied this approach from Chris McD's post here (http://zope.nipltd.com/public/lists/zope-archive.nsf/ByKey/19E1DED84C7E413F) Can anyone tell me why the id sort goes so crazy?
