strange zcatalog problem
by Tim Moore 11 Jul '01

11 Jul '01

I have a ZCatalog that seems to lose all it's catalog info whenever I modify almost anything (including things that aren't cataloged), such that my queries that worked before the modification turn up empty after. If I rebuild the indices everything is as normal, but it's really annoying to have to do that after any change I make to anything! Has anyone seen anything like this? threaded?
by Todd Hepler 10 Jul '01

I'm new to Zope. My understanding is that Zope and Medusa are threaded (as opposed to multi-process). If that is so, why does my Zope installation keep forking itself? > pstree -puc 6631 python(6631,thepler)---python(6632)---python(6636)-+-python(6637) |-python(6638) |-python(6639) `-python(6640) -todd

Postgres help
by Karl Munroe 10 Jul '01

10 Jul '01

I am running Postgres 7.1 version of postgres on linux mandrake. I use zope as a front end to postgres using the ZPyGreSQLDA-0-0-3 adapter. I would like to have my searches be case insensitive. I got the following out of the user manual: The keyword ILIKE can be used instead of LIKE to make the match case insensitive according to the active locale. This is not in the SQL standard but is a Postgres extension. The operator ~~ is equivalent to LIKE, and ~~* corresponds to ILIKE. There are also !~~ and !~~* operators that represent NOT LIKE and NOT ILIKE. All of these are also Postgres-specific. I tried to use the ILIKE keyword to match my patterns but I was not successfull...a parse error was returned each time.

EuroZope conference goodies
by Michel Pelletier 10 Jul '01

10 Jul '01

For those of you who are going to the eurozope conference in Berlin on Thurs and Fri, I'll be handing out free Digital Creations pens (the cool ones that everyone wanted at IPC9, I have a whole bag of them!). If you there and you want a pen, come seek me out. I also have some DC t-shirts, baseball caps, and compact disc cases (but not that many). I'll have a hat you can put your business card in and at the end of the conference I'll draw names for the shirts, hats, and cd cases. All of the speakers get a free t-shirt. Hope to see a lot of you at the conference! -Michel

Re: [Zope] zlib (zip a file)

Hi again, Thanks for your help. What I intend to do is to compress a set of pages, download them all together and decompress them after having downloaded it. (The download bit is done) Having had a look to the documentation I wonder how can I pass several pages and compress them as a whole. And which is the right method to compress them to have them in a propper format that allows them to be decompressed after being downloaded. I have tried to do it for one page...but zope seems to laugh at me...:( The method I have used is: import zlib def compress_data(data): x = zlib.compress(data,6) To return : <dtml-call "REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type','text/html')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content- Disposition','Attachment; Filename='+document+'.html')"> <dtml-return "compress_data(_['document'])"> Has anyone done something like this before? I would be really grateful if someone could help me. Thaks again belen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andreas Jung" <andreas(a)andreas-jung.com> Date: Tuesday, July 10, 2001 2:47 pm Subject: Re: [Zope] zlib > http://www.python.org/doc/current/lib/module-zlib.html > > >From: <belen(a)netcom.no> > >Subject: [Zope] zlib > > Hello there, > > > > Has anyone used this module before (zlib)? Hi This is propably an FAQ but I couldn't find an answer to it: I'm extending a product which has a java applet on one of the management screens. How do I get the class file and the jar? I've tried something like: --cut------------- def my_jar(self, REQUEST): return self._my_jar _my_jar = File('www/my.jar') --cut------------- but that absolutely didn't work... -- Regards Thomas Olsen

Re: [Zope] New ZCatalog Error ?

The multi-select list in the Find interface of ZCatalog sometimes trips us: when you select DTML Document, the option All Types at the top of the list is not unselected, depending on the kind of browser you use.
