Toronto Opportunity I'm a Board Member of the Toronto Section of the Canadian Information Processing Society. We have a classic web content management problem. We need to find a practical way to give our members controlled access to web content in areas of their responsibility. For example, our events coordinator needs to be able to establish a new event and provide all relevant content. Subject to a simple approval process, this content should automatically populate the appropriate parts of our site. The Zope Content Management Framework would seem to be a good fit for our needs. BUT, we need professional help to get us started. Ideally, this would be a knowledgeable Zope professional based in the Greater Toronto Area who is interested and available. If you feel that you may have part, or all, of what we need, please contact me. strftime - Unauthorised!

Hi, Having searched for an answer with Google and zope.nipltd.com I finally come to you for help: Why should this little snippet of Pythonscript code prompt for an username and password (even a manager is logged in) and then reject it with an error? apptRec = context.ParticipantApptSelectMethod(participant_id=result.participant_id, study_id=study_id) if len(apptRec.dictionaries()): linex = linex + ' A ' + apptRec[0].appt_date.strftime('%d\%m\%Y') The script works ok without a reference to 'strftime'. Re: [Zope] Propietary software with Zope. was: Zope license

Nobody said it was a licensing issue. Of course it is a security issue (also!). If you develop commercial code (Zope, of course), you have no control of the filesystems not the management access of the target system. Get the idea now. ? >> zpasswd.py -u newuser -p newpasswd" on a fresh zope installation and take >> the "protected" Data.fs to get access into the source code. Or, I am >> missing something ? >> How can code be protected in Zope, at least to the same (relative) level >> of a compiled object code? >> This has been a discussion going in our company with some customers as to >> how to protect developed code... > Just don't give access to the filesystem and the ZODB in management mode, > to any people you don't want to be able to see the sources. This is a > security question, not a licensing one. bye, Jerome Alet - alet@u... - http://cortex.unice.fr/~jerome Fac de Medecine de Nice http://wwwmed.unice.fr Tel: (+33) 4 93 37 76 30 Fax: (+33) 4 93 53 15 15 28 Avenue de Valombrose - 06107 NICE Cedex 2 - FRANCE

Searching and only one result.

Hi everyone, I have Made a ZClass where people can add news item´s to the site. Now I added a property to the catalog when they add the news item that gets the first letter of the person who wrote the article. Now I have a search page where people can search for articles on the name of the one who wrote the article. But now the results show the same name twice if one person has written multiple articles. How can I make sure the results will only show the name of this peron once? for instance: Albert wrote 2 articles and Annie 3 a person on the site searches for the A. Now it will give Annie Annie Annie Albert Albert But the thing I want to do is that it will do this: Annie (3) click here to see all annies ........ Albert (2) click......... Can any of you help me with this? Sure hope so!! James

RE: [Zope] problems creating a Contents management tab

I would look in ObjecManager.py / manage_main() But try the simple things first. Try removing all your own manage tabs and just use the defaults from your parent classes. like this: manage_options = ObjectManager.manage_options\ + RoleManager.manage_options + Item.manage_options If this gives you trouble, you should look elsewhere for your error. regards Max M > -----Original Message----- > From: Bob Shelton [mailto:polaris@infinity.erf.net] > Sent: Tuesday, July 10, 2001 3:15 PM > To: mail(a)peterbe.com; maxm(a)normik.dk; polaris(a)erf.net; zope(a)zope.org > Subject: Re: [Zope] problems creating a Contents management tab > > > > As a little reminder when working with tabs. > > They sometimes don't show if there's an error in the action value. > > I've a few times hacked the tabs of folders or products and > extended them > > with my own classes. pdf files dont work ??
by bdorn＠vup.at 10 Jul '01

hello all i've a python product class which inherits from "file" now if i upload a few pdf files (~1MB) and i try to view them with the browser and this doesnt work with all instances the browser loads something but it doesnt start acrobat reader, it displays an empty window i set the content_type to "application/pdf" i read somewhere that the id has to end with .pdf - so that acrobat checks the file - but this wasnt the problem is it possible, that the files are too big or corrupted ?? because sometimes it works there is only a problem with .pdf files - with others like word files it works just fine even if the file is 800kb big. would it be better to store such files in the filesystem instead in zodb ?? please help - thanks in advance - bernd

The first option in yout manage_options will automatically be selected as the first tab in the list. Why don't you just:: manage_options = ObjectManager.manage_options ( {'label':'Contents','action':'manage_main'}, {'label':'Edit','action':'editForm'},> {'label':'View','action':''},)\ + RoleManager.manage_options\ + Item.manage_options regards Max M
