RE: [Zope] Searching ZCatalog - sub-words?

Dieter, Thanks for the suggestion; I think I will likely use the regexes in UnTextIndex, but rewrite them using re, as Zope (as of 2.3.2) still uses Python 1.5.2's regex (I haven't looked at the 2.4.0 code yet, but since this is likely a radical change, I think I'll just implement a makeshift query parser using re). I suppose that one could rewrite > REQUEST['nameOfIndexToBeSearched'] prior to <dtml-in Catalog> to achieve > those results, but I am wondering if there might be a simpler solution? With Zope 2.4's pluggable indexes, you may have a special index that can do sub-word searches automatically. With Zope 2.3, I fear you need to rewrite the subquery. I would steal the "UnTextIndex"'s parsing code to find the words and add '*' as necessary. Setting permission when installing a ZClass product
by Didier Georgieff 09 Jul '01

09 Jul '01

Hello, I've made a ZClass product, with some permissions. When you add the product the permissions are there but without any default setup for the roles. Is there a way to have a 'setup' method when installing a Zclass product (i know i can do that with a method by hand, but i want to avoid ask the product user to do it). Any idea about doing that the smart way ? Thanks.

RE: [Zope] ZCatalog resources

There really should be more documentation on setting up searching and indexing strategies then exists now within the scope of Zope collective knowledge. That said, I think such a document (howto or whatever) is going to have to wait until 2.4 final is released and people start playing with Pluggable Indexes... Perhaps you can be more specific about your problems. I suppose you are working with Text Indexes? What sorts of indexes and queries are you trying to set up; and on what sorts of datatypes? I'm sure that I (and possbily others on the list) would be able to help guide you in your set up of the indexes you need in a manner that suits your search case. Sean -----Original Message----- From: complaw(a)hal-pc.org [mailto:complaw@hal-pc.org] Sent: Monday, July 09, 2001 1:16 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] ZCatalog resources Is there a good resource for ZCatalog issues. I've tried Chapter 9 of the Zope book, but only get the result if they have because they have only two objects. My experience with the ZCatalog is that it returns far too many objects, the vast majority of which do not satsify the criteria. When I ask for the first set, it returns a correct result. However, changing the criteria and resubmitting (by going back, chaning the criteria, and resubmitting) gives me the exact same (overly large) result set which now does NOT fit the search criteria. I need a catalog but don't want to roll it out to users if I can't get it to work correctly. Is there some nice neat resource that explains how to get the ZCatalog to do one's bidding (or tell me what I'm doing wrong). Missing mime-types
by Robert Rottermann 09 Jul '01

Hi there, I am implementing a facility to have DWG-files as content in CMF. Checking the OFS\content_types.py I find "application/acad" and "application/dxf" missing. According to what filter was the list of mime types selected ? Would it be possible to add the two above mentioned types? Robert

Apache verifies the certificate, but how to know it in zope? REQUEST.eviron only have a HTTPS key. I'd like to authenticate based on the SSL_CLIENT_S_DN. Any suggestion? Istvan Vago

An example: a = ' some words ( another words)' I want to extract now everything without the brackets themselves anth the words in the brackets. That should be the result. a = 'some words' How can I do that. With the string-module and "find" I can get the index where the brackets begin. But there is no function to get the string from index 0 to the result index of "find". Is there another way to do this? I´m sure that somebody has a solution for me. Steffen

My objectValues doesn't have the right permissions ... I guess
by Max Møller Rasmussen 09 Jul '01

09 Jul '01

I am trying to make a minimal ObjectManager How-To. So far so good. I have made the product and it works ... allmost. I can add objects to my objectmanager class. But when I try to see then in the management interface they dont show up. When I try to list the objects through: <dtml-in objectValues> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a><br> </dtml-in> I get nothing too. I CAN see them directly through the url. So my guess is that there is something wrong with my permissions for "objectValues" or somesuch. These are my permissions: __ac_permissions__ = ObjectManager.__ac_permissions__ + ( ('View', # label ('index_html',), # methods ('Anonymous', 'Manager'), # roles ), ('Change minimalOM', ('manage_editAction', 'manage_editForm'), ('Manager',) ), ('Add minimalOM', ('manage_addminimalOMAction', 'manage_addminimalOMForm'), ('Manager',) ), ) If I print them out concatenated, they look like this: ( ('View management screens', ('manage_main', 'manage_menu')), ('Access contents information', ('objectIds', 'objectValues', 'objectItems', ''), ('Anonymous', 'Manager')), ('Delete objects', ('manage_delObjects',)), ('FTP access', ('manage_FTPstat', 'manage_FTPlist')), ('Import/Export objects', ('manage_importObject', 'manage_importExportForm', 'manage_exportObject')), ('View', ('index_html',), ('Anonymous', 'Manager')), ('Change minimalOM', ('manage_editAction', 'manage_editForm'), ('Manager',)), ('Add minimalOM', ('manage_addminimalOMAction', 'manage_addminimalOMForm'), ('Manager',)) ) I cannot see what is wrong here. "objectValues" has the usual settings, and the user im logged on as has manager role. Anybody has a clue? Bound methods, acquisition, __init__, Unpickleable object
by Bo Granlund 09 Jul '01

09 Jul '01

Hello zope users, I have this little problem with bound methods and __init__. I have written something like: class Root(Acquisition.Implicit, Persistent): def __init__(self): self.container = [] def register_func(self, func): self.container.append(func) class Spam(Acquisition.Implicit, Persistent): def foo(self): pass def __init__(self): # This fails at Root.register_func, in self.container.append self.register_func(self.foo) def add_bound_method(self): # Works like charm, when called explicitly self.register_func(self.foo) This results in UnpickleableError, 'Cannot pickle objects' when adding the product. Now if I call register_func from somewhere else than __init__ or manage_afterAdd, there is no problem, and everything works as I expect it to work. This is propably explained somewhere in deep detail, and I have managed to miss that documentation. Any pointers to documentation or ideas on how to set bound methods to other objects would be appreciated. Best regards, Bo Granlund
