Hello I just installed the CatalogQuery-0.1, and restarted zope, there were no errors nor tracebacks. BUT, I don't seem to be able he product from the drop-down menu as is not in the options to select from. This is my setup: Zope Version Zope 2.3.3 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2) Python Version 2.1 (#1, Jun 6 2001, 14:18:24) [GCC 2.95.2 19991024 (release)] There was similar problems, before with ZMySQLDA and ZGadfly, where both Products ware shown as installed, but were unavailable in the drop-down menu. here is the link of the solution, i think http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-June/092803.html Norman

Very long URLs
by belen＠netcom.no 03 Jul '01

I have a problem I cannot find out how to sort it out. In my system I end up having very long urls. Due to the characteristics of our system many parameters are passed via links and the contents of those parameters are quite long by themselves. I try to make the target of my link get the parameters but without these parameters being part of the URL. So when I click on the link the values are available to the new accessed document. I have tried <dtml-var "myDTMLDocument(_.None, rg1=arg1,...,argn=argn)"> But in the context of what I am doing I think it is not a valid way of doing it. <a href="<dtml-var "myDTMLDocument(_.None, arg1=arg1,...,argn=argn)">">SomeText</a> Any ideas? ThankYou

RE: [Zope] need your team help

That said, does anyone know how to form a link to a binary (word file) so that it opens the document via the web folder instead of downloading the file? That way, assuming the user has web folders installed, they don't have to think too hard about what they have to do to get their changes back up to the server. It is said to work fine, but as I don't use windows I can't help more. bye, Jerome Alet _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

by Montagne, Michael 03 Jul '01

If I'm going to be able to use Linux and Zope as my intranet site and crack the Microsoft stronghold, I need to access my MsAccess databases from Zope in Linux. Is this possible? I'm struggling with mxODBC in conjunction with iODBC. not having much luck. Are there any zopish alternatives. -mjm

Extending ZClasses
by Peter Bengtsson 03 Jul '01

How do I extend a ZClass? Overwrite general stuff that I want to personalize for my own site. Can I just create a new ZClass with my Product as the Base Class? and then create objects with the same ids. Will that do it? Then I'll have to create a ZClass with a different id and meta type and that will complicate things. I have the Beehive ebook about ZClasses but that didn't help. Cheers, Peter

Non short-circuit or statement (listing multiple document categories)
by Frank Sonnemans 03 Jul '01

03 Jul '01

What is the correct way to generate a list of documents of several types. I used the following statement, which only lists the documents of the first category matched. <dtml-in expr="objectValues('STX_Document') or objectValues('Page Template') or objectValues('DTML Document')" sort="bobobase_modification_time" reverse> So if there are no STX_Document's the Page Template's get listed, but not the DTML Documents. Dieter or anyone, Do you know exactly what import command can i use to include the DTML functions in an external python script? thanks --mate' my email is: msztipan(a)bellsouth.net -----Original Message----- From: zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]On Behalf Of Dieter Maurer Sent: Monday, July 02, 2001 1:51 PM To: sztipam(a)vuse.vanderbilt.edu Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] python script imports Mate' Sztipanovits writes: > Does anyone know what python objects we can import in our Zope python > scripts? The same you can use from DTML (--> DTML reference). I think, you will find a HowTo on zope.org how to make additional modules available. The mailing list archives, too, contain some threads about this possibility. RFC:Howto incorporate nonzope site into zope
by Bak ＠ kedai 03 Jul '01

03 Jul '01

sirs! i have a howto done on KebasData that will help incorporate nonzope site/pages/data to zope. basically, the product just fetches wanted data, and put it in zope. This howto helps with three examples, and there may be many other ways to use this product. in effect, we can have a perl cgi running in apache , and have the forms and get the result in zope-land. works with any kind of data, available thru the NIC. http://www.zope.org/Members/kedai/useKebasData the product - http://www.kedai.com.my/Members/kedai/KebasData comments on the Howto and the product itself apreciated. thanks
