Within "exportMethod" the path of "exportFolder" is already known as: http://localhost:8080/folder_B/exportFolder any ideas ? thanks in advance Nico ---------------------------------------------------------------- nico grubert (education & publishing) nico(a)beehive.de beehive elektronische medien GmbH http://www.beehive.de phone: +49 30 847-82 0 fax: +49 30 847-82 299

Question of the week
by Eric Vautour 18 Jun '01

18 Jun '01

Hello all, I sent this to the forem by mistake, and I got flack because of it, hopefully it reaches the right place this time. I have a question that may or may not be answerable. I have a site that is set up as so: There is a something.htm that calles other objects, like so: <dtml-var level1_header> <dtml-var level1_sidebar> <dtml-var l1_phoneit> <dtml-var l1_dialit> <dtml-var l1_findit> <dtml-var level1_footer> I was wondering if there was a way that I could extract the information from this ".htm" object so that I could determine which objects are being called from it, excluding the header, footer, and sidebar. Is this possable? Thanks

Bad request

Hi, I seem to be having a problem inserting big text data into postgresql using a z sql method. When the text is bigger than some size (I will try to find if there is a specific size) then the text is not inserted into the db, but instead it produces a Bad request error on the next fields that would otherwise would be inserted. In the error screen, I can't help but note that the URL passed to the sql method is HUGE... is there a way that this might be this problem? This is tested on both Konqueror and IE 5 & 5.5. Can I pass variables through some other way rather than the URL? Mind you the text is not western latin but greek, and in the URL it is replaced by %XX characters, which in reality triples the size of the URL. I would appreciate any help. Regards Konstantinos Margaritis

enumerating fields
by Mark McEahern 18 Jun '01

Q: How do you enumerate and display the field NAMES in a SQL result set? Suppose you have a ZSQLMethod, getSightings (from Lesson 11 in the Zope Tutorial). What I'd like to do is enumerating the fields in the results of this query to display the field names (without knowing them). Here's what I tried, but it doesn't work (in particular, note the sequence-start block): <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title></h2> <table border=1> <dtml-in getSightings> <dtml-if sequence-start> <tr> <dtml-in sequence-item> <td><dtml-var sequence-key></td> </dtml-in> </tr> </dtml-if> <tr> <dtml-in sequence-item> <td><dtml-var sequence-item></td></dtml-in> </tr> <dtml-comment> <p><dtml-var date> -- <dtml-var location></p> <p>Reported by <dtml-var name></p> <p><dtml-var description></p> </dtml-comment> </dtml-in> </table> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> Any ideas? Calling Objects
by Jason C. Leach 18 Jun '01

hi, I have x.html Folder Object (in Folder) from x.html, I would like to <dtml-var Object>, but I don't know how to access the folder Obj first to get at it's internal objects. Folder.Object and PARENTS[0].Folder.Object don't seem to work. A tip or direction to a HOWTO would be appreciated. Thanks, j. ...................... ..... Jason C. Leach ..

Re: [Zope] Mass update of a ZClass property?

If I just set a REQUEST > try > manage_editProperties(Category=['Music','CD','Book']) > you can find that in the API-documentation in zope's > online help. wait, there's a small trick you can use so that you don't need to write your own method which recurses folders. Just go to the "Find" tab of the folder where the instances of your zclasses are and go to advanced search. Select your zclass type for search and put manage_editProperties(Category=['Music','CD','Book']) into "expr:". Zope will find nothing, but the instances' properties are updated after that. cheers, oliver
