Question about __ac_permissions__ and more generally about the do cumentation

Hello In the following piece of Python code for Zope: __ac_permissions__=( ('View management screens', ('manage_main',)), ('View', ('', 'index_html', 'update', 'show_source','view_image','picture',)), ('Change', ('manage_edit',), ('Manager',)), ) Could you tell me: 1) What does the first "empty" method ('') associated to the View permission mean? 2) Is the Manager method associated with the Change permission the class constructor for a Manager class which would represent the Manager role? 3) Why is Manager method needed in addition to the manage_edit one? 4) Why are there 2 tuples associated with the Change permission instead of having one tuple containing both the manage_edit and Manager methods? More generally, where can I find a REFERENCE doc (instead of a collection of how-tos or other items more or less related to the topic which is interesting you) in which such information (I mean developping Python code for Zope products) is __clearly__ defined? inserting file into external db

First, hello to the list. Second, I've recently started using Zope at work and find that it's just different enough from Perl, C, and Java to be a little confusing, so hopefully this won't be a patently obvious question. How do you convince Zope to insert a MIME file into an external db properly? Here are some code snippets of what I've tried. First, the DTML to upload the file. <form action="do_add_doc" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" border="0"> <p>File<input type="file" name="doc_file" size="25" value="" > <input class="form-element" type="submit" name="submit" value=" Add " > Next, the DTML to process the file: <dtml-call sqlInsertFile> And the SQL to insert the file into the MySQL db (takes argument doc_file, DOC_ID is set to 'auto increment'): insert into TABLE (DOC_ID, DOC_FILE) values ('0', <dtml-sqlvar doc_file type=nb>) The file is showing up, but it's being munged at some point. Hopefully this is as simple as uuencoding the file or somesuch, but I can't figure out to get Zope to do that. I should point out that it is a requirement of this application that the documents be accessible via ODBC, hence the MySQL db (so simply storing them in Zope's db isn't an option, unfortunately). FAQ: How to add a ZClass

Hello, I know this is a FAQ but I didn't manage to add a ZClass to a folder in DTML although I followed all steps in the How-To. My new ZClass needs only to have an 'id', so I just go with the default installation. Here is what I do: Create a product, name 'tip' In the product create a ZClass name 'kingkong' In folder /admin I have DTML Method 'addTip' which does <dtml-with "manage_addProduct['tip']"> <dtml-call "kingkong_add(_, REQUEST, NoRedir=1)"> </dtml-with> When I call addTip?id=123 I get an NameError. binary data

Hi *! As i didn't get any replies to my second question: I looks like there is no way of building a ZClass with more then on 1 field for binary data, i.e. 2 or more files in one ZClass? That sucks. Maybe if i do it in Python? But i guess there'd be no way to have a dynamically growing number of binary data fields :-( any ideas? Trouble changing permission settings on file object

I am not able to change the permission settings on a file object. I am using Zope 2.2.2 on a Linux box. I have manager status. Date formatting problems

I am trying to format the dates in my Squishdot site so that they don't appear in American format.
