Hello, The problem: I make a big site, where every link is a new directory. Every directory inherit the index_html look like: --- <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-var view> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> --- And I must only change the view on every subdirectory. Several domains and one Zope

Hello, I am sure that this question have been asked a thousand times, but I am not sure what to search for in the archives and the documentation so here goes: How do I set up several domains in the same Zope ? I know there is a lot of Products (e.g. VirtualSiteHost, VirtualSiteMonster etc.) but I'm not sure of which one is the best to use. Anyone with good ideas ? Time-consuming External method blocks Zope execution

Hi all I have an external Python method that can take a long time to complete. This method does some conversions of files on the Zope server into another format on request of a client. My problem is that the whole Zope installation comes to a standstill while this method executes. Nobody else can get any response from the site until the external method have returned. I know that I can make my long process run in a thread and return immediately, but how do I notify the client browser when the thread have finally finished. Is the only way to write a self-reloading page as response for the client so that his browser checks every now and again if the process is finished eg. 1) Client submits form with files to be converted 2) Client receives a please wait page with JavaScript (or whatever) that will check for process completion in 10 sec. 3) Client browser aoutomatically calls a checkIfProcessIsFinished page - gets page at 2) if it is not else gets page 4) 4) If the process was completed he gets a results page I did make sure that my Zope does not run with the -t 0 or -D switches (it does the same running as a service too) Thanks Etienne

ObjectManager implemented on a list

Hi, I need a special ObjectManager, which doesn't ask an ID when adding new objects, and will keep the objects in sequence. I figure this is what a list will do, so I'm gonna cook up a new breed of ObjectManager (please tell me if there's already one of that ;), but I need some advice/pointers on how to make the objects in the list traversable? Update a database from a FORM gives missing input variable

I am close to getting a form to update a database, but I seem to have misunderstood how ZSQLMethod gets variables: The Form: <form action="update_table"> <input type="hidden" name="PeopleID" value="9999"> <input type="text" name="Surname" value=""> <INPUT type="submit" value="save" name="submit"> </form> The action method: <dtml-call sql_update_tblPeople> Finally the ZSQLMethod (no arguments set): UPDATE tblPeople SET tblPeople.Surname = <dtml-sqlvar Surname type="string"> WHERE tblPeople.PeopleID = <dtml-sqlvar PeopleID type="int"> >From all the documentation and How-tos I have read so far, this should work, but I get: missing input variable Surname Changing the update_table method to: <dtml-var Surname> shows that the form delivers the right value. Can anyone help me to spot my silly error? TIA Neil

Traverse REQUEST.form Querystring values

How do I traverse the Querystring values in the REQUEST object? I dont know how many or what name they are so I want to call then in a traverse. There are simple ways to do this in Perl and ASP. Something like <dtml-in "REQUEST.form"> <dtml-var sequence-id> : <dtml-var sequence-value> </dtml-in> Well, I hope you know what I mean. Thanks, Tom
