Getting the id of a DTML Document/Method in Python

Hi all, I'm trying to write an external method that will loop through all my DTML Documents, and return only objects that match a certain criteria (based on its id). Instead of the id, my External Method returns: [<Python Method object at 83df298>, <Python Method object at 86e9ba8>] whith the following sample code: --- def LinkGenerator(self): objlist=[] for obj in self.objectValues('DTML Document'): objlist.append(obj.id) return objlist --- If I change the self.objectValues('DTML Document') into self.objectValues('Folder'), obj.id returns the correct id: ['folder1', 'folder2', 'folder3'] I've tested a few objectValues, and as far as I can tell it is only DTML Documents and DTML Methods that does not return the id correctly. How can I get to the id of a DTML Document/Method when looping through the objectValues() ? Ultimately I want to do this: def LinkGenerator(self): import re objlist=[] for obj in self.objectValues('DTML Document'): res=re.search('^link', obj.id) if res: objlist.append(obj) return objlist And then use DTML to loop through the resulting objectlist: <dtml-in LinkGenerator> <a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a><br> </dtml-in> Thanks a lot, Andreas.

Craig: I have my Python compiled with --locale and all the LC_ variables set to my locale's specifics for Mexico. LANGUAGE=es_MX LC_ALL=es_MX LANG=es_MX Zope is started with the -L parameter on the /usr/local/Zope/start script : #! /bin/sh export TZ="America/Mexico_City" #umask 077 for worldpilot use umask 077 reldir=`dirname $0` export Z_REALM='this system: ' PYTHONHOME=`cd $reldir; pwd` export PYTHONHOME exec /usr/bin/python \ $PYTHONHOME/z2.py -u nobody -L es_MX -p '/home/httpd/somedirectory/zope-cgi-bin/Zope.cgi' \ "$@" Then what I use for date formatting in DTML methods is: <dtml-call "ZopeTime().strftime('%Y%m%d%H%M%S')"> or <dtml-var "ZopeTime().strftime('%Y%m%d%H%M%S')"> or <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('somevariable', ZopeTime().strftime('%Y%m%d%H%M%S'))"> when you need to set a variable with a date The %Y %m %d $H %M %S are formatting strings to the strftime functions. Look at the Zope Quick Reference for more information on this formatting variables, some of them DO use the locale settings defined above. You can control what you get on date formatting with strftime(). Hope this helps. Apache & Domain User Problem

We are trying to add a new user into our acl_users folder which includes a domain criteria to prevent people from logging into Zope from outwith our network. As we are using Apache, all traffic to our site comes through Apache and therefore all access seems to come through the same IP address. This is making it impossible for us to restrict access to a specific domain. hi, I just learnt a craxy bit of syntax today. It was how to get the last modified date out of an object. I would never have found that if it was not for this list. Partial string comparisons

This ought to be mindlessly simple: can I test for a string within another? Example: Finding "<ul>" case insensitive within dtml-myvar? How to determine name of the user (NT Domain)?

Problem: Intranet site, all users are logged into NT domain. How to determine loginname of the user? Authenticated_user is OK, but it brings another problem. How to use NT Domain authentication without changing anything for each new user? Mariusz
