Hi - Just getting on board with Zope and Python... converting over from MS ASP web application development AND dont want to invest/waste time with JSP or servlets for that matter. I look forward to seeing how to further work with ZOPE with XML/XSLT - page templates cool! (end of my blah intro!) Can anyone share with me in simple terms - how ZOPE replicates or depracates the ASP object of REQUEST and RESPONSE to build dynamic pages?? And I have read and seem to assume that keeping logic to add dynamic content should be kept to Python code thats called from a DTML method or something??? Set me straight... I just emailed to Éric Barroca (eric(a)barroca.net) he has a product name MSWordDocument which uses wvware to convert word-files to html for zope. I think wvware is really good for this task and it can convert word-files into various format (PDF, Latex, DVI, html, ps wml). It's configurable via xml-files. You just have some tags like <bold><begin><b></begin><end></b></end></bold> which means that a bold text in word is rendered as <b>...text...</b>. So it would be relativly easy to change that to use for instance a custom css. Erics product already gives you the possibity to write <dtml-var "myworddocument.text"> to get the html-rendered content. cheers, oliver

Using odd numbers

Hello, One time I saw some code using something like: <dtml-if odd> <TR BACKGROUND="#FFFFFF"> <dtml-else> <TR BACKGROUND="#000000"> </dtml-if> used to color the lines differently in a table. I have tried the above code but it doesn't seem to be working - anyone who remembers the correct code ? Regards, Gitte

https and cookie authentication.

Hi, We are developing a product that uses user cookie authentication. The product has both http and https views. The problem is if the user authenticates in a http view, then then they are not authenticated in the https view since the cookie is not sent by the browser, and visa versa. Multiple delete from selection list

Hello, I know I have asked this question before but I still have some problems. I have a list of some items I want to be able to delete. Each item is listed with some informations and a checkbox. You can check as many items as you would like and when you hit the delete button below the list of items, the items should be deleted in the database. The name of the checkbox is: delClips:list Then I tried to do this: <dtml-in delClips> <dtml-call sqlDelClips> </dtml-in> But I get an error: Error Type: error Error Value: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '['68', '69']' at line 1 I hoped that the <dtml-in> tag would iterate through the list. Newbie Question: How to import comma separated files into YiHaw

Hello, Does anyone know of a quick way to import links files into YiHaw? I have tried Soren's method (from releaseinfo doc), and can add it if I add the long url in IE5, but when I try it with lynx, I get the error. zope server just stopped

I am running Zope 2.3.0 on FreeBSD and Python1.5.2. It is running as pcgi behind apache1.3 All has been going well for several months now and I am very happy with it. But yesterday it just stopped. len() of unsized object

I have the following DTML code: <dtml-in ZSQL_method> <dtml-if email2><dtml-var email2></dtml-if> </dtml-in> ZSQL_method is a select * where key=xxx and gives exactly one row. Zope gives the following error: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: len() of unsized object It is only produced if email2 is not NULL. If I include email2 without the test it works - but then I include also NULL values. The error is also generated if I use <dtml-if "_['sequence-item'].email2"> I looked at this error type and found only references to some odd sendmail tag behaviour. Can anybody give me a hint, where to look and what to look for? Software: MySQL 3.22.32 Zope 2.3.0 MySQLDA 2.0.4 Python 1.52 Regards, Frank
