acl_users list with comments

I have a acl_users directory for the local security management of a site. We use the employe number as the default user name. I would like to be able to ses the name of the employe as a comment in the management interface, like dtml-documents et methods in folders. Is it possible? How ??? Thanks for the note. Virgil, what operating system are you using? Getting zope up&running remotely and from source on the average unix machine is really not hard (and on windows the remote part would be the only thing which would make it hard for me, but that's not zope's fault). And for learning zope there's no problem in running it locally. If you want to provide more data about your setup, I'm sure the people here on this list will get you up and running. cheers, oliver

At this stage, I most definately need a newbie list. I have been all over the zope web site, read documentation, etc., and still don't really have a clue even how to install it or if it will work on my host companies servers. All the documentation assumes that everyone has some basic level of understanding. Maybe I'm the only one on the list who is completely confused (the unstructured documentation doesn't help), so maybe I shouldn't even be considering Zope. That said, I need a CMS, have no budget and every other open source product I have looked at makes Zope documentation look like the best in the world. That isn't saying much, however. The documentation seems to be there, but is so unorganized that I have trouble knowing what I need to read, learn and know. I want to have a database with questions and answers on a wap platform, and use zope to randomly pull information out of the database (eg. 10 questions at the time). Have the zope running on a apache server on an linux box. Is there any way this may be accomplished. Stian Jenssen

InterbaseStorage Product

Hello, I am trying to install the InterbaseStorage Product on a linux- system (debian). In the readme of this product it is said, that I shall install Kinterbasedb. Well, there are two versions available: Kinterbasedb 0.5 with api 1.0 and Kinterbasedb 2.0 with db-api 2.0. Which one shall I use? Best regards: ufechner(a)4commerce.de

How to correctly use the PARENTS object?

I've struggled with this long enough to justify asking help...I've been through the manuals, FAQ's etc, but somehow my understanding of PARENTS object is incomplete... I have the following directory structure: Bugs Interface Insert sendMail - a DTML Document BugsMail getRecipients - a Z SQL Method I'd like to call and iterate over the results of getRecipients from sendMail. So I tried the following in sendMail: <dtml-in PARENTS[1].BugsMail.getRecipients> <dtml-var someFieldReturnedByGetRecipients> </dtml-in> ...and I get a KeyError for PARENTS[1].BugsMail.getRecipients.... I tried various other options (albeit somewhat blindly/desparately), eg. putting the whole PARENTS thing in an expression, etc...What am I missing? What other options are there to traverse a path in a dtml-statement, or to do what I want to do here? Please help, I'm pretty new to this...
